Here's one I never saw before. I was riding my 2020 SR/F home from Brooklyn and traffic on the Long Island Expressway was EXCRUCIATINGLY slow.  I think I was creeping along at around 12 mph, mostly stop and go. I was watching my estimated range slowly climbing up to ridiculous numbers. First over 200 miles, and eventually over 300 miles. The numbers continued to slowly tick upwards and suddenly, before it could hit 400, it rolled around back to ONE!  The numbers started slowly climbing again and when it hit 27, suddenly it read 357!  Eventually traffic opened up and I was able to cruise at a reasonable rate and the estimated mileage sank down to about 75 with 56% battery left when I got home.

Once I sincerely hoped that Donut Lab was telling the truth, but the indications a not pointing in that direction.
Even if I had the money to buy a Verge with SSB right now, I would have to wait more than a year for delivery acc. to Verge's website. That tells its own story, I think.

I am 100 % sure, in about 5 years there will be a Hollywood picture about this.

when are they going to start putting these in cars / bikes etc and who will be the first to do so?
yah phones and drones are nice but i want to see mass scale, like an auto

I think the biggest issue here is that most EV companies are engaged in the "NIH" (Not Invented Here) mentality.  Now that they know it's possible, they'll spend MILLIONS trying to recreate the technology without stepping on any of their patents rather than pay a licensing fee and get their batteries from them...

I presume the bike has been approved for the season.  Every other entrant has a brand that I am familiar with.  These don't say Zero or Energtica.  It is lf1 or something along those lines in the results I saw.  Supposed to be production based.  There may be a reason, but it would not seem unreasonabnle for some grumbling.  It generally is the protests start when the winning starts.  Years ago, I welded up and then machined the insides of Yamaha Rd 400 heads to replicate dg aftermarket heads to quiet the complaints in amateur hillclimb.

I'm not really a fan of Josh Herrin, but there's no denying his talent when all of his marbles are rolling together...

Just an FYI: When I bought my 2020 SR/F from the previous owner, the FIRST owner had replaced the stock fender and license plate mount with one of those stupid side-mounted license plate mounts so popular with the cruiser crowd. This was incompatible with the side bags so I ordered the parts to restore the original unit. My bike was held up in the shop for two months because one of the parts was stuck in customs. At first I thought it was just a story my dealer was giving me because they hadn't gotten around to installing it, but I checked with Zero support and they confirmed that the part was indeed stuck in customs awaiting approval. So SOME of the parts for the bigger bikes definitely come from overseas.
