"THE PACK has caught wind of something exciting happening behind the scenes that could be good news for the electric motorcycle industry. Although we can’t share all the specifics yet, some rumours say that Energica has likely attracted the attention of a foreign investor (probably based in Asia).

Energica - THE PACK - Electric Motorcycle News
Energica Experia (test ride by THE PACK >)
After two unsuccessful auctions and the serious risk of a complete loss of the company, along with its assets and technology, it seems Energica might be saved. This information still awaits official confirmation, but developments could occur soon. We’re staying alert and ready. More updates will follow shortly. Stay tuned, as you won’t want to miss the moment this story revs up."

Indeed!  Thanks for sharing.  Just laughing that the author of that piece did not even try to embelish.

Some hope is certainly better than none.

Hoping for the best.  Definitely a vague report, but why put it out if there wasn't at least something to it...?  The auction updates went silent, so maybe they are just working out the details there...

can someone explain what "total loss" in terms of companies/bankrupcy means?

even if nobody buy it  ever - i think someone still holds patents/software - which cant be worth nothing

Title: Re: Hope for Energica?

ultimately if nobody buys, any of the people who are owed money can say.  ill take the patent for 50 bucks, or something like that and get the stuff.  they can claim property but have to assign some value to it.   i can't see that happening though,  i mean energica usa, one of them would probably snatch it up before it got that bad.  shit id snatch the workstation up for a grand if i could.

My dealer wrote me an e-mail yesterday and claimed, Energica (or whatever is left) was sold to an Indian company.

I see that as a positive sign. As I understood, Bajaj recently  has more or less saved KTM, maybe they got Energica for a bargain price and will merge the two companies.

Just dreaming...  8)

I wonder if that means they will make a centerstand for the Experia.

But it will probably take some time for things to get back to normal for Energica.

My opinion on folding it into KTM depends very heavily on how Bajaj want to tackle the things that drove people away from KTM. I really value how customer focused Energica are.

You'll be hearing something very soon.
Not at the 'this is how we are going to proceed' phase yet, it seems to be more in the hammer in hand, piggy bank cracked open, deposit made, now digging up stash of cash to pay for rest of it phase.  Then of course it still has to go thru lawyers, and all that crap, debtors have to be satisficed, final write off executed, new acquisition registered, then when the smoke clears they can breathe a sigh of relief and go, ok now.... the business finally IS all ours, and this is how we are going to proceed.

They may have a business plan already, but the judge can still say, well ok BUT, you need to do this and that first before it's yours clear, which was not in line with their business OP.

The fact that someone has put money down is absolutely a good sign and shows that there is a very strong chance they are not just going to go away.   As I said months ago, there are interested parties, but of course they are going to proceed in a manner that is most beneficial to them being able to be successful, with their new baby, and not take on a huge monkey on their back from scamonomics.

Who knows, maybe they can fix Apollo's bike for him, or at least put him on a real bike and use that thing as a fine example of what NOT to do to your customers!!

I didn't know the SS9+ has a spot for a centerstand. I only have the 2020 SS9-, no place for a centerstand, AFAIK.

I dunno, would it be wise to have the weight of the bike twisting and turning on the aluminum bottom of the battery case like that?
Seems to me that it'd be better putting that kind of stress on the frame instead.

My 2023 Experia has a CS hole in the frame for the left side, but only one hole in the aluminum alloy on the right side. Two holes total.

None in the middle. Since yours has three holes, I would say perhaps it is for a centerstand, but I am not sure, I have not seen a centerstand yet that used three holes to mount

I believe those ears on the 21.5 battery case were intended for a center stand. The battery case was redesigned at some point in production eliminating them.
I managed the conversion of some EsseEsse9 bikes for police use. In addition to outfitting the bikes with an emergency lighting system they requested center stands. We worked with a local motorcycle fabricator named Todd who runs Sonic Moto to design an build the stands. He was planning on producing the stand for sale but I have not heard an update on the project. It's a really elegant solution that uses the 4 mount points the rider foot pegs attach to.
(https://i.ibb.co/4RsGRy0J/IMG-2291.jpg) (https://ibb.co/4RsGRy0J)

For the Experia the stand was fully engineered and a small batch was produced. Suspect the financial situation played into the part not being put into full production.
I have not seen one in person but a number of Experia that were built for police use had them installed. There are 2 mount points located on the motor case

Dang...that looks like a nice design for the 21.5...my bike has the mounting points and they are rather substantial thinking group order will certainly entice fabricator...if there is interest we should start a new thread...proven design for LE bikes...

Looks like a Ducati single sided swingarm modification...this guy is hip...

Investors from Singapore?
I bet that means they are going to be making the bikes somewhere else now.  People are always complaining that the bikes are so expensive, well if they outsource production of them to China, India, VietNam, Phillippines,  places like that, where labor and materials are cheaper, and move production over to one of those places that'll keep the production costs down, which in turn will help lower the price of the finished product.   Let's be brutally honest.  paying a UNION worker 50 dollars an hour, to do mediocre work, at a mediocre pace, throws a lot of non value added cost into a product.  THIS is what killed America's auto industry and made so much of it move overseas.  Italy is a first world country, and they make the finest auto's in the world, bikes too, but they come at a hefty price!  If you want lower prices, something has gotta give.  Since they (and the customers too) refuse to compromise on quality, that pretty much leaves labor costs.... where can we get cheap labor... oh yeah.....

IF they do decide to move manufacturing somewhere, it'll be a good year before you see ANYthing come out of them.  They'll have to disassemble the existing production line in Italy, box it up, ship it to wherever, hope it don't get lost or stolen on the way over, unpack it, and put it all back together again.  That's a monster task!!

Hopefully their comeback plan includes making their existing clientelle whole again, ie start making parts, getting some repair centers opened back up and fixing all our bikes we got now.  THEN start, or even at the same time, slowly start ramping up making new bikes.  If I remember correctly they got a whole order book full of people wanting the Experia, a lot of LEO,  that's a great start right there.

Can't wait to hear what the final details are going to be.

imagine if they cane out with a, call it a starter bike, no it don't have to be 180 hp, a bit tamer, maybe like a 300 - 400 CC, equivalent, and could price it at 15 to 18 instead of 26k entry level.  That'd be a game changer i bet.

Just remember Energica's last investors were based in the United States, but manufacturing remained in Italy. Doesn't matter where the money comes from (though I'm sure they'll look to decreased costs as a factor).
Title: Re: Hope for Energica?
Post by: Specter on July 11, 2025, 11:03:48 PM
and there was a stampede of people just running for the opportunity of a lifetime to snatch it up right?

remember, the last investors did not give two shits about Energica either, they just needed the name, so they could pull off their scam, and essentially left energica to starve to death, which sadly it almost did.

people are wise to that game now, it won't happen again, which is why Energica didn't immediately get snatched up again by another scamming pos.  This time it was bought by someone who actually intends to use it for what it is, to make it's money with ITS output, not some scam on a green new steal portfolio.

The entire motorcycle industry is in a slump now, especially the E side of it, which of course also fed into Energica's past situation.  Any potential investors already know this, and know they'll have to cut costs or somehow re image / re invent some things so that it IS successful this time around, (with their money).  That means serious cost cutting.

Energica is not going to budge on Brand or quality, that's that Italian pride, which is a great thing!  so they are not going to use cheaper / inferior parts!  Doesn't leave a hell of a lot left to cut.  Advertisement?  yah, ill be polite and not go there :D ... that pretty much leaves manufacturing.   How do we make the bike cheaper?  A big part of that is answered by WHERE.

Lets move it to India, cheap labor, and India does put out quality, IF that is what you tell them you want!  Cheaper resources, and india recently signed on with the tarriff kerfluffle so has a favorable position there, which keeps costs down on that front.  PLUS India has a lot of people who are really keen on motorcycle travel.  Im sure the investors already have some vision for this.  Energica brings the tech, and knowhow, india brings the labor, AND if played smart, introduce something new and affordable, it also brings a potentially HUGE customer base to buy your product.

Energica introduces the new IndiGoGo.  made right here in India, for our people, by our people!!  Has a nice ring to it.

You could swap out India with Korea or Philippines, where labor rates are cheaper but the potential 'made right here at home' market base won't be as big as india is, but it could still work.

i have a very strong feeling that manufacturing is going to be done elsewhere.  Earlier i mentioned moving their production line,  but now that i think on it more, would it be easier to just build an entirely new assembly line from scratch instead of moving the existing one.  plus leaving the old one as is, gives them a backup, in case they get too busy, or lets say a critical machinery fails, now production is not totally down, plus the r and d needs tooling too right?

a plus side to that would be, they could if even limited amount, restart the manu back in italy and at least start making repair parts again for existing bikes.  run a reduced output, but repairs, keep existing customers happy, put them back on the streets, and starts bringing income back in.

anyways... won't happen for 59 more days until the legal work is completed.   they got a lot of things to get ready for the grand re opening day!!

Personally I’m of the opinion that cheaper manufacturing based on location and manufacturing motorcycles that target lower price brackets of the market can be mutually exclusive.  I see a pretty potential here for them to lean into the large Chinese market and start delivering lower power and range models to the largest EV market in the world.  Unfortunately this route leads to the least optimal outcome for me, I really would like a new model that can rival the current motoE tech Ducati has shown off for lower weight and better handling characteristics, not to mention higher voltages for more efficient charging.

All of that being said, I’d love a small and light bike that can replace my FX that comes with 6kW DCFC built in.

oh hell yeah, i want a 240 hp monster too!!  and of course i know i'll pay dearly for it too, but the few dozen they may sell a year to fanatics won't keep the company going..

higher voltage is not automatically more efficient, that's kind of a catch there.  higher voltage, means more cells, which means, either more weight, more room taken up, BIGGER more cumbersome,  OR each cell is smaller, so while you may preserve overall kw capacity, C rate is increasing, so that means a bit less efficiency.  instead of the bigger cells being able to handle 400 amps,  the medium cells can only push 350 amps before getting too hot, so you have that tradeoff.  The voltage still has to be converted from mains to battery too, and the more you have to 'change' it, the bigger the losses.  if you really start pushing things, now insulation starts changing class too, having to protect things harder, it's harder to shield / control, arcing between terminals, dielectric strengths between parts becomes much more significant now...    there is no free lunch.

Yes, I’m well aware of the limitations of higher voltage systems.  I happen to have the opinion that 800v systems offer more pros for what I’m looking for vs the cons.

BTT, I just wonder what the management staff around Cinderella and her seven dwarfs have learned and want to do different this time.

Electric bikes are products for customers that are not so open for new tech compared with passenger cars. Look at Zero - after more than a decade of selling bikes, they are still not making money and need investors again and again.

I guess as the first task they shouldn't  develop new models that might or might not sell better, they should build & sell what they have already developed. And in order to do that, they need to look into their local distribution channels. At least the dealers in Germany were completely unhappy with the intransparent and unreliable behavior of the sales part of Energica (tech & support was always premium). A part might have come from the fact that Energica needed cash upfront to get components - but even before that they could have done MUCH better to support the dealership.

And let's not forget, they have alienated at least half of their suppliers. Rebuilding the supply chain will be the biggest challenge ahead...

Their first instinct shouldn't be new products actually.

Title: Re: Hope for Energica?
Post by: Specter on July 12, 2025, 06:29:47 PM
with current tech, an 800 volt bike will be about double the voltage of what is available today, well almost 2.5 as far as bikes go.  in order to do that they'd need a bunch more cells, which will cut the capacity of each down, so it'd pretty much be a wash there.  might save a bit of weight on the motor because you can use smaller windings due to needing less current for the hp.  A small gain.  The charging rate will still be the same, it's pretty much the C rate of the battery that is limiting it.  They want to keep it at 1C ish to charge at, pushing harder really shortens the life of their battery.  So even if you can run the motor at half the amps for the same power, due to the C rate limit you can only charge it at half the original rate too, you are still being limited to 1C of the now smaller battery.

A real fix is going to be batteries that can reliably be pushed at harder rates w/o the damage to them.  It's the battery that is the limiter here, not so much the voltage the system is run at.  An active cooling system would be helpful too, more room, more weight, where to put it? oh yah the battery case, so even smaller sized batteries to make room for the cooling equipment in there.

i wonder if they could do something with the inverter?  right now i think it just takes the dc, wiggles it into ac at the given freq and spits it out, what if we raised the voltage too?  convert it AND boost the voltage... yes more parts, expense etc but wonder how that might help?  a bit less efficient, because you are changing the power more but enough to not be worth it?

who knows, maybe this new grok everyone is so afraid of will come up in a few months and say, here you go dummies,  this is the chem, higher voltage, higher power, less weight, now go build it !!

@most - that is a very good point you bring up.  Energica, it's past abusive parents, unfortunately burned many bridges in their wake.  From what I understand, a lot of it was built inhouse, the rest, stuff other bikes use, that they put on theirs, ie brakes, shocks, turn signals etc.  Maybe this is another push for them to move manufacturing instead of restarting, because somewhere else, they didn't stiff everyone, and may get the parts they need again.

yah that's going to be rough, you walk away leaving someone holding a million dollar debt, you don't just come up in a new suit and say im back, i need 500 more of these and those, it's going to be a cash deal moving forward.  Do they have the cash to do that?  Lets ope so

@stonewolf,  is the EGO a losing platform?  maybe it was just mismanaged, or wasn't given time to play out?  maybe since it wasn't advertised as you and so many others pointed out, THAT is what helped kill it?   I agree, remp the experia, but keep the ego / ribelle / ss9,  maybe have a dozen of each on hand, and just build - rebuild them to order, so they are available but not keeping millions tied up in slow moving inventories.  it's complicated and hopefully we get it figured out for all of our sakes, becasue WE as customers can also have a very big impact on their success as well.

The Ego platform was designed to be built at a rate of a dozen a year and over time they've refined and redesigned parts of it to improve production efficiency but at the end of the day there's simply a massive difference between how you design something for repeatable fabrication (Ego) and how you design something for mass manufacturing (Experia). Experia is designed to be built economicly in the thousands, Ego platform isn't economic even in the hundreds never mind thousands. That's why I said the approach they need is to replace Ego platform bikes with interim machines based on the Experia platform a) to get them onto a production basis where they can be manufactured at scale economicly and b) to drive scale (and therefore efficiency) for the shared parts of the platform.

I don't have references handy but basicly all of this has come straight from the horses mouth at various points.

More cells in series, less in parallel so C rates is the same in both

300V 60Ah - to get 1C you need 60amps
600V 30Ah - to get 1C you need 30amps

so you can have thinner wires, for higher voltage you need better insulation, and inverters/controller/motor will cost more bcoz of voltage range

in our bikes battery range is about 250 to 330V
with 600V system it will be 500-660V - much more range to operate = more expensive parts

Only time will tell what kind of strategy the Singapore investors will pursue, but I tend to think it will be a “barbell” strategy of premium bikes driving brand recognition so they can sell millions of little 125cc-equivalent scooters and dirt bikes, along with ATVs, snowmobiles, etc. all over the world. Having the fastest, longest range, best handling, and most premium electric bikes in the world could really mean something, it just hasn’t metastasized yet because most people have still never heard of Energica. But put the marketing effort of a large corporate interest behind it and use that recognition to sell millions of lesser machines all over the world, and the 50 to 100MM Euros you had to spend saving the brand is a drop in the bucket. Maybe the goal is to establish the brand and develop smaller powertrains in the hopes of selling out to a company like Suzuki in 5-10 years. Someone with a large and diverse ICE powersports line-up that hasn’t been investing much in electric.

Not saying that’s definitely the play, but it’s how I would be thinking in their shoes. If that’s the play, then you want to keep that premium Italian manufacturing in place for the foreseeable future, even if the labor is expensive. Moving production might save a small amount of cost on what’s essentially a marketing loss-leader, but at the risk of jeopardizing the brand that is at the center of the strategy. The small bikes and non-motorcycle powersports would have to be made in a low-cost country from the start, of course.

I wonder if this means we will be able to buy parts for the older Energicas again. Such as for my 2020 SS9-.

A German Enerigca biker just rode down to Modena. The old production site was unlocked, so he was entering the premises and charged his bike. No workers, but he took some pictures - and later on ran into Massimo himself. After Massimo calmed down, they had a nice chat.
The skinny (according to his report):
Tomorrow Aug 5th there will be a contract signed. Most importantly, it seems like production will move to Singapore - which is strange as the Singapore automotive industry have much higher hourly rates compared with Italy.

Singapore also is kind of a neutral hub to sell anywhere.  India, China, US, Russia, EU, ..Singapore can do it.
Singapore is also heavy on AI and robotics too, like Japan is correct?  Perhaps there won't be as much human hands on, moving forward and a lot of the stuff is done via robotics or outsourced, and Singapore is just a final put together place.

That's one thing that always has kind of hamstringed Energica is their insistence of doing everything inhouse.  For proprietary stuff, i absolutely get it, but for more common stuff?  why?  especially if it wasn't cheaper to do inhouse.  Your Experia centerstands as an example.  That is NOT a complicated item to make, and any first year trade school student could make one that is of high quality, you could not have contracted that out to a local machine shop or something?  or Alibaba'd it in worse case, instead of leaving people hanging?  Especially as they started growing, which they absolutely would have with the roll out of the experia, that already had hundreds of orders!!, sooner or later they'd have had to start having 3rd parties take care of 'lesser importance / critical' parts.

Hopefully if paperwork is being signed, they'll be reopening their doors very soon.  I have heard word that they will absolutely NOT leave their current customer base hanging, and will be making repair parts and stuff once again.  However as mentioned earlier, this will take a bit of time to get stuff moved, the new factory setup and rolling etc.  Maybe by the end of the year we'll start seeing parts again, and later next year, murmerings of new models??

Hopefully we get some more official word from them on some progress, or at least a proposed / planned path forward.

I'LL anxiously wait.

I think they will, there is a lot of profit on parts and they have all ready to produce them

I really hope they can update batteries on new models - also maybe some tweaking in software (to work with tesla SuC network)

From what I am lead to understand, Energica, with rev 43 already is ready to work with teslas network, it's up to Elon to flip the key to turn it on for them.  That would be a big help if they could do this!

Totally agree, selling the existing spare parts in the warehouse is the easiest way to make money.
So I trust that the first thing that will be working again is the spare parts logistics. Moreover, it's highly probable that they will keep at least a warehouse in Italy for that purpose.

But what about the parts that are NOT in the warehouse, such as the centerstand? Will they make/ buy such parts again for the older bikes?

I guess we will have to wait and see.

jojo, they really don't have a warehouse full of spare parts sitting around.
they have been in business still through this re organization, have still been fixing bikes and such.
any spare parts they may have had have been / are being used as they can to keep what bikes they can still running.

they'll need to re make / re buy / re whatever the parts again, and as mentioned, that will take a little time to ramp back up, there is no secret stash of Ribelle gold in a closet somewhere.

Title: Re: Hope for Energica?

Aaron, you might be incorrect.
They do have a warehouse of parts - there was an inventory shared when they started the liquidation. Can also be found in this thread (https://www.electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=13448.msg129660#msg129660).
So once they aligned on if and how to proceed, those parts can be used either as spare or for new bikes. And I have no doubt that at least a share will be spare parts - as JJ said this is the easiest way to generate some cash.
Title: Re: Hope for Energica?
Post by: Specter on August 05, 2025, 11:29:49 PM
they have parts but not things people need. There are a lot of broken bikes sitting around now because the parts needed to fix them are not available.  my experia got totaled for just that.  They had an auction, it was pretty good prices too.  If the parts were stuff people needed it'd probably have sold, if it's not stuf people are looking for, then they are not going to really be able to sell them, they tried that already.

remember this bankruptcy been going on for oh geez half a year now? what they had at the beginning and now, is probably a hugely different, and smaller list.  they have been doing whatever they can to keep the lights on, if stuff was readily sellable, i think it'd been gone already.

id love a room full of parts, but parts we need, not stickers and unused vin labels.

It would have been nice to have concrete details, but it’s an encouraging update none-the-less.
Title: Re: Hope for Energica?
Post by: Specter on September 04, 2025, 05:49:42 AM
They really can't give concrete details until the factory is set back up and everthing.  that's going to take time as Stefano said.  they have to move stuff there, stuff that is not being moved from r and d and hq in italy is going to have to be rebuilt, re bought.  then there's the customs and getting all the stuff there to the destination.  how much is going to get stolen in the process, you know how THAT goes.  have to get it in, wire it up, permitted, bla bla,  expect 6 months to a year hopefully.

The good thing, the parts, they can do that right now, most the stuff they can order or make with what they still have available, so hopefully in a few months we start seeing parts flowing again.

they are going to also have to get a dealer network set back up again.  how many of the old dealers are going to still be there?  how many new dealers are going to want to jump on, especially if there are no bikes to sell yet?  that's going to be another logistics challenge.  yes you can order parts and bikes directly from them, but what happens when it's an 'energica' thing that's wonky and you need compy stuff and diagnostics etc?

hoping by maybe next may or june they are pretty much back, but still remember  the US shop is still open and doing business, so if they are starting parts asnd stuff first, id imagine that'll be the lead for them.

hopefully more updates soon, but  they are probably going to be updates more along the lines of ....ok THIS is ready, this is online, this is ready to go versus giving you plans... because the moment a plan does not come online the exact moment it was promised, everyone cries and accuses, so they'd rather tell what's here NOW and not so much in progress.... that's just my opinion of course.

The website looks a little different:

https://www.energicamotor.com/

Now a "made to order" brand either through a dealer or online (later).
Don't know if that means dealers will just be service centers without floor models or full dealer sales setup like before.

Is AF1 signing back up?
Title: Re: Hope for Energica?

The dealers will probably be very similar to the way they were before, with the exception of instead of having a trio of bikes to ride and maybe 3 sitting around, waiting for a new home, zero waiting for a new home, no surplus on shelves.  Id assume if one wanted they probably could get a dealers demo model for a bit of a discount.

Hopefully AF1,  Energica New England, the one in wisconsin? is it??? and the others come back onboard.
Be interesting to see what happens in Florida, but losing that clown is not a true loss it's actually a good thing, guy was a shitbag, energica was well... just kind of stuck with him .vs. nobody i guess.

Glad to see things are slowly coming back around here.

The sales manager at one of the previous Wisconsin dealers, indicated they dropped and would never be a dealer again (before the new buyer news).  Maybe they'll change that stance (hopefully).

Is there a sales contact for Energica US? I’m fishing for some bits, I tried eone/rob and failed but maybe that’s on me.

I purchased a new EVA Ribelle RS beginning of 2024.  Shortly after the bankruptcy one of the wires in the ignition switch broke.  After two attempts with dealerships to fix realized the only way to fully repair the motorcycle is replace the ignition switch which requres the part and access to the software to program the ignition due to the keyless FOB.  Following the announcement about the new ownership I started reaching out to Energica to get the bike repaired.  I found out Livia Cevolini is no longer the CEO of the company in Italy, but possibly Stefano Benatti whom I have worked with before to get the manufacturers certificate of origin.  Livia was nice enough to respond and forward my situation to Chris Paz.

So of the three people, two appear to be still actively with Energica but I have only been able to get a response from Chris who I am not sure still works there because still waiting on a response about repairs.

Chris is still there, and working his ass off to keep the company going.

Try reaching out again,  energica recently sent out an e mail to all asking what parts are needed to keep bikes running so they can concentrate on what people need first as they restart operations.

you could also try a separate thread here, chris tends to lurk and reach out when he can help.

I didn't have time to write this last week before I went off travelling without my PC. EEMC (who are the UK distributors) don't yet know what all is going on but have been told that they'll find out soon.

The dealers and distributors have done a fantastic job during a difficult period, I had a part replaced with one that another dealer in a different country had in stock that my dealer knew about and the PSU repair has been a hell of an effort!

Have you or anyone else been able to get a response from Chris via email lately.  We started a conversation about ways to fix my motorcycle but after a couple weeks have not heard anything.  I decided to send letters to the offce in Mooresville and Modena in case someone else has taken on the responsibility.  I also completed the Energica Resurgence Program questionnaire which was good to see.  I am interested in seeing if there will be a warranty extension to cover the period of unavailability for existing owners.

Before I forget...shout out to Ed Cook in Austin at AF1 Racing.  Hope you are still around and part of the Resurgence.

yes they ARE answering e mails but it can take a few days currently.  they just now, are getting back to a normal routine, and as such, don't quite have a dedicated office team set up yet to handle letters / calls etc. give em a little bit

The main reason why I brought up Chris is that someone else posted about who to contact for parts and service.  Even though I have very few posts on this forum, I have been viewing this site for a while and looking at the threads I have not seen anyone respond as a representative of Energica.  I have actual communication with Livia, Stefano, and Chris by phone and email.  Aaron, based on your responses unless you work for Energica, it does not appear that you have ever spoken to anyone working at Energica.  I see many comments about Energica staff travel, answering emails, and level of activity, but what is this based on if you have never met or spoken to these individuals.  As of April of 2025 the office in Mooresville, NC was registered as the primary address for Energica Motor Company, INC in the USA.

Since my vehicle is under warranty, most states require the vehicle owner send written notification to the manufacturer of a needed repair.  Energica also requires the owner notify the manufacturer that repair is needed.  I think Energica owners would like to know that if you email Energica they will respond in a timely manner.

I am not an employee of Energica therefore i have no rights to talk officially on behalf of the company OR the employees.  Also, since I don't know if you are one of those whiney pain in the ass customers that everyone wishes they could avoid, I am not at liberty to discuss my rapport with them and potentially throw them under the bus concerning you.  so instead of saying, oh yes, so and so is here, here's how to get in contact with them.  i'll give you general info so that someone who IS a genuine employee can assist you in a proper manner and form.  They are busy, sometimes they overlook things, sometimes you have to remind them a time or two.  Since you know relatively nothing about me, and my interactions with them, as you correctly stated, we'll leave it at that.

Since Energica has been "out of business" world wide over the last year or so, (hoping they will return to normal soon) there is basically nobody to contact regarding parts and service....There may be a few small service centres who will help with bike servicing etc...but parts availability and general servicing for most people has been essentially non-existent.

I live in Australia and the one and only service agent we had in the whole country is now out of business as far as Energica is concerned.....so where do we go for parts and service..?? Parts have not been produced over the last year or so as far as we know. There may be a small amount of fast moving spares in some countries but certainly not in Australia....Good luck finding hard to get parts or getting your bike serviced when there isn't a dealer in a country as big as Australia.

Smithy.

As far as the USA, dealers were limited in their ability to assist following the bankruptcy, but the manufacturer has maintained a presence even until now.  Each owner's situation is different i.e. was the bike under warranty, location, and type of repair needed.  Emailing Energica I was at least able to get a response from the manufacturer last month to cover the obligation of notifiying them.  I mainly did this in case warranties are extended and they require proof we made an attempt to contact them.   I think this highlights the relationship between dealerships and the manufacturer.  In the event no dealerships are available in your area after the resurgence, you may have to work with the manufacturer to resolve your issue.

Ive said constantly that Energica USA is still open and doing business.  If they had to ship something overseas, i am sure they would if it was possible.  They have answered e mails that i have sent to them, however sometimes it takes a few days.

there are posts here where they sent techs out to places to work on peoples bikes, even during the shutdown, and / or worked with them as they were able to, to fix their problems, so yes, they are doing what they can, when they can, with what little they had to work with.

did they fix every problem, no of  course not, they were not allowed to buy any major parts or do any major service while the whole mess was going through the courts.  That is by order of the judge, not by them.

their service person, has posted here many many times trying to help people with their needs through the months as well. IMO he is not married to this forum though, and has no 'obligation' to answer every question that comes up.  Things they are not able to fix, due to whatever reasons, they probably stayed silent on, rather than have to hear the subsequent tantrum, and you guys suck, etc etc that happens when you tell someone, sorry you are on your own at this time.

Energica has said they are back, they are ramping back up, trying to get their customer service back on track, to please be patient, and reach out with your current needs, and they will do what they can to help.

does that mean you are going to get a singing telegram from the CEO... umm  no.

does this mean they blew you off.  again no, but, they did have problems with their servers for a bit, so there is a chance your request got lost, misplaced...

try contacting them again.   their website appears to be back up and their e mail should be back up too.

also remember, they have probably several months of e mails they have to go through, and knowing them, they are not just going to 'highlight all and delete'  so that may take a little time too.

currently their website appears to be bare bone, as they get everything back up.  remember with a new company, somethings you can't just 're open' the old stuff, it's all 'new' so all new stuff has to be redone.

it appears sales@energicamotor.com  is an e mail to get in contact with them for the time being.
give that a try see if it works.
ill see if i can get find contact info for them to post.

Aaon I am not sure if you missed my previous question but was wondering if you own an Energica bike and what has been your personal experience with repairs and parts for your motorcycle since you mentioned receiving emails from them.  With your extensive use of third person it is hard to tell how you are so knowledgeable of what is going on with the company since you have already stated you have no communication with the current staff and don't work at Energica.

Also just like they renewed registration for their primary business address during the bankruptcy, their website has always been up and running.  I am not going to post Livia, Stefano, or Chris' emails to avoid them being targets of web crawlers but with a Google search their emails can be obtained or just message me.

Is Aaron truely a super user of Energica products? I hear he hasn't even got the full set  ;D

I think we all just have to accept that Energica died, and if the necromancers in Italy and Singapore are going to be able to work their magic and bring it back to life, we have to have a little patience.

The international company hasn't had any formal operations for most of the year and any support able to be rendered in that period has been by the grace of the individuals still out there fighting on behalf of us owners, so cutting them a little slack so as not to burn these precious resources would be a nice thing to do.

Of the three names being thrown around, I believe only Stefano is still part of the manufacturer, with Livia stepping back to CRP and Chris being a hero doing what he can with what the US has access to.

Grauteufel:
Stefano and Chris have been running the EnergicaUSA side of things in San Francisco, and instrumental in the goings on to get the whole bankruptcy thing settled down and a solid plan moving  forward, what's our next steps, etc.  They are still with the company, and the USA side, is their baby :)  TBH those two were the heart and soul during the ordeal and pretty much the only activity the judge allowed was the US market.

with that they are / were very busy, they have to goto Italy for meetings, and corporate and legal bullshit, maybe not so much Chris but Stefano.
chris on the other hand has to go here and there taking care of other stuff.  They had to do what they had to do and go where they had to go to keep the lights on, and keep what support they were able to provide, continuing.  Then there was the job of finding a buyer for the place, proving to them that YES it IS worth saving, look at everything we have, look at everything we are doing, look at how loyal our customers are, we can't just let that die, and they did a magnificent job of that too!!

When you consider it was two people holding the whole fort down on the us side, doing pretty much everything, answering e mails was not exactly a top priority when you are trying to save the company and were out of most parts and couldn't help anyways!

you are absolutely correct in saying that we should be thankful for everything they have done for us, and realize that no the universe does NOT revolve around us, no matter how much we want to pretend it does!

currently they are bringing everything back up, they as you know, have moved ports of operation, so that threw things into turmoil.  Slowly they are coming back online and getting everything back to where it was, and ask in the meantime please be patient.

they understand that the customers ARE top priority right now and that fixing all the broke ass bikes out there now, is their top priority,   With this, have asked everyone, please let them know what bike you have, and what parts you need, so they can get going right away on that to get the parts needed to get the bikes back on the road.  I posted a form they have on google docs to communicate what you need, and you can also contact them on their Facebook / Instagram official Energica pages as well.

and you are right, i am a total dirt bag.  A poser and kook i think is the surfer term for a fraud  8)

i do not have an SS9, so know absolutely nothing about the brand :D

The SS9 is something ill have to figure out a way to work into.  would love to have one but with the experia, hmm man, that would be a shitty morning every morning, trying to figure out which of the two id want to ride.... then once that one was picked, bounce it off the ribelle to see who i want to ride.  ill just end up what i do now, take a few rides a day, on different bikes.  deliveries are the Experia, back and forth and romping fun the ribelle, and track fun the ego.   ive flat spotted the wheels on the ribelle dragging, so.thats probably not going to work well on the track so probably keep the ego mostly track only with occasional romp on the road and the ribelle for street racing.  as mentioned in another thread with someone with much more experience than me, the experia on the track, is not optimum so ill keep her just a smooth sailing bike, ie the beer hauler :D

No reply to my request for a spare rear brake line, so I had one made from scratch in Switzerland. The part itself was reasonably priced at about 380 USD, but the total cost came to over 1,100 USD. Still, totally worth it to have my SS9 back on the road.

color me stupid but.  back in my navy days, i did some work in the hose shop, making various hoses / tubing for fluids.  Also in the power plant, swagelock we'd make all our lines to length, and tubing, bending it every direction imaginable to hook part A up to port B.

yes it's thin line, 1/16 inch maybe 1/8 for larger apps but why so expensive for brake line?  Shit, the raw material is 6 dollars a foot for stainless braid, capable of holding 5k psi or more, plenty for brake lines, very durable and can safely handle the brake fluid.  i get it labor and all but that price is just crazy.

First, it’s in Switzerland.
Second, the SS9’s rear brake line consists of a rigid pre-formed section and a flexible one leading to the calipers. Both parts had to be replaced because the flexible section wasn’t detachable.
And did I mention this was in Switzerland?  ;)

Given Energica’s lack of response, the completely uncertain waiting time, and the likely equally high—if not higher—costs due to shipping, I considered this clearly the better option.

You can run a flexible custom liine to replace any hard lines in a system.  HEL, Spiegler, any brake line manufacturere can fabricate the correct run length with fittings.

Here is a video of the idea with a ninja 400 just for illustration.  Look at minute 23 on.

Exactly my point Pard, there are plenty of hose repair / manufacturer places around the world, they are used in many industries.  As you mentioned, brake specialists can do this too.   Flex line, is fairly cheap can be ran about anywhere and with SS armor, is just as sturdy as solid steel, in fact in some instances is better, because if there is a vibration issue, it'll move around a bit, instead of eventually rubbing a wear spot / hole in it.

as predecessors said already, full custom and full flex brake line from HEL will be a lot better and cost you about 60euro

I paid 38eur with shipping for my front brake (from lever to pump) - length 59cm

The front brake line wouldn’t have been a problem, but the rear one originally includes a fixed section. The mechanic warned me that the Swiss vehicle inspection authorities might object to replacing it with a flexible line. The inspection is due next year, so I didn’t want to take the risk.

yeah, I just watch few videos of swiss inspection rules and they are STRICT :O

for that kind of price I will not mind selling mine fixed lines and replacing it by full flex

my bike for sure will not pass it:
- aliexpress turnsignals
- no fairings
- damaged frame
- damaged steering limiters
- bent headlight mount

Indeed, seems like an odd marketing strategy.  Some crumbs of information to keep the appetite for more might work better.  If there was great and encouraging news to share, why would Energica not share it?

Not a good sign, either way.

I had the video call with Energica. It took 45 mins instead of 15.
Very experienced and relaxed guy from Europe at the other end.
He was somewhat high up in the company and gave me interesting insights.

Overall, the relevant news that I can share simply is that they're actively rebuilding the company in all ways one would expect. They are working on it every day without delays, it's just not public. There will be good news coming within the next year.

Yes, had a nice chat of about 30 minutes. We talked about bikes and plans for 2026. From my point of view I am happy about the information they provided. I think most of it is public knowledge, the first step will be to restart production and rebuild a dealer network for services an parts.

Good luck with your calls. hopefully you get some insights on where they are on the shipping and getting shop set up.  That's really the first step, even for getting parts out, they need somewhere to send them to!!  They are going to need some money flow, and right now, that's about the easiest way to get it going, as pretty much all of us need parts at this point.  Hell, even if they put together a bunch of the annual fluid change out kids and sold them, that'd be a good fast flip.

I wonder what role Italy is still going to play since they are moving the machinery to, wherever.  Is it just admin and engineering or some design and manufacturing, maybe prototyping or something.  it'd be really cool if we could see pictures of stuff once they get it all back up and running.

What makes you believe they are moving at all - besides obviously moving to another building? They said engineering and operations will remain in Italy.
But I will ask about future locations specifically…

According to the Swiss importer of Energica motorcycles, all inventory and production machinery has been relocated to Singapore, which is why the diagnostic and firmware-update servers are currently offline. Given Singapore’s well-known high labor costs, I wonder to what extent this location is intended to serve as a long-term production hub.

they said they were.  that is why they boxed everything up to move it.  o and e in italy, ok as an admin role,? will they have any abilities to do small manufacture to prototype or test stuff or is it all paperwork and computers over there.  i know of a few companies, where the engineers aren't allowed out of the office building and they'd never dare give them tools or sharp objects they might hurt themselves with  ;D   i know companies where the engineers are right on the deck with the workers on a daily basis, THAT is a good engineer, they actually see and understand  how the stuff works, not just what looks good on paper or sounds good in a chat room.  Energica was very hands on, will they still operate that way under the new regime, and if so, to what extent since they took all their toys away?

that will be interesting to see what happens with the singapore home port, with prices and all, yes labor is a bit expensive but it's probably higher quality than you'd find in some other places.

I had my call with Rob, he seems like a genuine human and wasn't full of corporate bullshit or empty promises. Engineering in Italy, corporate HQ in Singapore, manufacturing/assembly not in china. They sound like they know their current users and existing dealers are the reputation on which future success lies, and will do what they can to look after us. Its super impressive they are getting a guy like Rob how is a motorcyclist and engineer himself to make these calls rather than some PR weenie, the corollary of that is he is time limited, but is making the effort to contact every owner who responded to the info emails.

it would have been much easier then if they would have made a video.. get the CEO on again like last time to give an update, this is where we are at this is what is next.  they did say there was going to be more info soon,  while the personal touch thing is nice, it would have been a lot more efficient to do the video so everyone knows, even those who may not have gotten an invite, and then offer to do one on ones for any remaining questions that folks may have had.

so did they say anything about the status of getting the stuff shipped and the new shop set up, where are they at with that, that is very critical.  what about parts have they ordered anything yet, if so what, when can we expect to possibly start seeing stuff become available.
simple things like that can go a long way towards quelling anxiety.

how are the first experias on their way to the showroom as they speak?
where did they build them, their assembly line is torn down right?
where did they get the parts to build them?
if they ARE getting parts, then why aren't the existing customers being taken care of, we were promised we would be first priority.

This is beginning to smell like they got struck by 'lightning' and that 'ive been burnt' smell is in the air.

this sounds fishy.

They have been a couple of finished Experias (as well as other models) in the inventory when the company was sold. That was visible in the inventory list from the auctioneer.
I guess those are the bikes that are going on display right now.
Title: Re: Hope for Energica?
Post by: Specter on January 01, 2026, 04:43:42 AM
some of those were demo bikes i thought.  some were taken apart for parts, so they could fix what was still in their inventory i believe, and a part of that inventory was sold when they had their fire sale and were letting them go for what was it 12k?

even with that, why put up models and say order now!!!  when you know damned well that a new bike won't be built for probably a year.  if you need orders, they had over 300 of them on order was it? on the books from the various municipalities and police forces etc that initially ordered the first run of them. why make that list bigger, w/o at least trying to 'take care of our customers' and work those down.

i want to see them succeed, i got 3 of their bikes but man, this is...  something seems a bit off here.

Had my call with Robert deMunk, Director of  Operations of Energica.  My understanding, which may be imprecise, is that Energica is ramping up to start supplying parts HOPEFULLY end of Q1 2026 and bikes end of Q3 2026.

They will be reaching out to dealerships and trying to get that parts availability system in place ASAP.  Robert told me he understands how essential dealer support is for moving forward.

He also said that turning on computer access for firmware updates and the like is an easy step for them to take and he will be getting willing dealerships connected right away.

Sounds promising.

It also sounds pretty disorganized.

Time will tell the tale.

Had a nice chat with Robert online yesterday. Here is what we talked about and what I understood.

- Energica moved to new premises near Maranello, new building is considerably smaller.
- Parts and production were shipped to Singapore.
- Main spare parts warehouse will be in India.
- R&D and smaller spare parts supply (mainly plastic stuff) will remain in Italy.
- Dealers (he called them importers) will be asked to warehouse essential spare parts themselves.
- Shipping of spare parts planned to start during Q1/26.
- Energica is currently talking to 'former' dealers if they are willing to continue selling bikes.
- In Germany two dealers already declined (and I know of a third one who will not continue).
- The phone at Energica in Italy is staffed again and if you have problems or suggestions, you are invited to give them a call.

Just had my call today. „As he said“ (JotJotDe) ;), plus:
- PCUs will probably be available end Jan/beg Feb
- Rob has understood that regular communication is key to regain trust with customers - a new video is being prepared
- asked for the lessons learned from the old structure, he mentioned (I) Management decisions, (II) BOM/bill-of-material cost (so all purchased parts, (III) production cost. Prio 1 is to tackle III by moving production to Indonesia and homologate that. New bikes to be expected Q2/Q3 2026. Then tackle II by sourcing some components in Asia.
- whole homologation is expensive, he feels EU is overregulating things. More simple in Asia
- target markets are EU, potential growth expected APAC / specifically in Australia
- biggest growth potential segment he sees in Adventure Bikes like Experia

EDIT: Forgot one thing - the new legal company will not honor the old 5 yr warranty sold since 2022. But they will respond favorably for goodwill requests.

Nasty rant to counter the hopeful mood I was in yesterday...

Putting a new Energica bike and rider on the MotoAmerica grid this season would actually mean something for credibility.

Those owner calls?  Why aren't they just mass-emailing every single owner with real updates?
Where are the interviews with motorcycle press and influencers?

They need frequent, precise, reliable info backed by actual action, not this vague hope-dumping.

With the dealer network basically nonexistent, they should already be rolling out on-site service for owners. If your bike dies today, you are still high and dry.

After all the info we've gotten so far (or lack thereof), it's painfully obvious they don't even have a real business plan.

And the kicker: Even Energica of New England—the biggest evangelist dealer in the US—hasn't gotten proper info or a direct call. If you can't even loop in your most loyal partners, what does that say about your commitment? It screams incompetence.

This "new" Energica is off to a rocky start.  For you small business owners out there, would you run your startup this way?

I hope I am off base in my perception.

What about the 'energica usa'.
Is there still going to be a I guess you could call it depot level repair in the US or is everything going to conveniently essentially slither it's way to india?  They don't answer e mails or anything over there, what are the plans for the san fran shop?

now they are saying, well we want the dealers to stock their own parts.  oh really?  how many of these dealers were left holding the bag when the old energica went away?  do you honestly think they are going to throw more money at you... just trust us, we'll be very vague, but trust us?

ok lets say i need a knibbly pin, and the dealer does not have that one in stock, how long is it going to be for the company to ship one to the dealer?  is the company going to warehouse parts TO send out, or is this going to be one of those, well we will wait for one to break, then once he orders it, then we'll have one made, then mark up and sell to dealer when it finally arrives, then dealer marks up and puts in our bikes, when it finally arrives here another 4 months later.

this does not sound very promising at all.

What about the Energica shop in San Francisco, can't they stock parts like they always have, after all that IS your repair depot, and what would you call it, assembly and inspection point when they come into the us from Italy?

I can only wish/hope to have a dealer in Australia....We essentially only had one to start with before it all fell apart...and Aus is close to the size of the US. Getting to a dealer was impossible for most of us before the collapse. I was one of the lucky ones and it was only a 300km round trip.....we have owners who were 4000+km away...what do they do..??

What about the 'energica usa'.

Tariffs...a well optioned Ribelle pushing 28k USD previously will cost upwards of 15%-26% more if exported from Asia / India...potential show stopper for usa sales, IMO.
Title: Re: Hope for Energica?

UNLESS they ship them in like kit form, and put them together in San Fran, , ie the USA even though it don't look like it when you go there...then it's final assembly is in the us and no tariffs.
I am not understanding the singapore thing here.  Singapore is not exactly cheap labor, which seems to be what the new 'investors' are looking for.  India is cheap labor, well cheap everything really.  I understand they are not happy with the eu, but singapore is not really an answer to that.  again, unless you are doing a rug pull for the tarriffs, but why, when you have the shop IN the usa already?

Also, btw, a well optioned Ribelle, is more like 32k after the dealer rapes you, and sales tax, and dmv rapes you, and and and and...  Still there are plenty of people who love the concept and will buy one.   Even at 26k w/o any tarriffs, tha's a biggly amount to pay for a bike, yet they still sold well.  You can't say it was the 7500 Rebate either, because the bikes unfortunately did not qualify for that.

The Experia really is a fun bike, and extremely well suited for govt use, ie traffic cops, meter maid, general utility, city workers, they could easily sell  a ton to municipalities with a bit of a proper pitch.  From what we were lead to believe, that's exactly what they did, when it all went downhill, and their books were full, but the last set of 'investors' starved them for cash and wouldn't let the bike company run the company properly.  I hope we are not seeing the same thing here.

I really would love to see their business model, a solid model, and not something like the south park skit with the underpants gnomes.

They have to get up and running first before they go doing anything with new R and D.

Still, when you fill up the car, do you just fly up to the pump, gush the gas and tear right back off on your trip, or do you stop and take a leak, get a drink, maybe a snack, stretch the legs, or in the case of bikes, your fingers?  Everyone is so hung up on charging time, they overlook the one big difference in refueling, with a gas vehicle you pretty much have to stand there while fueling through the entire process, that wastes your time, with electric, you turn it on and walk away, it's charging while you are doing your other stuff, eating, drinking, stretching, the time is not wasted listening to some stupid advertising coming out of the gas pump.  with gas you want it to go fast so you can then go and do your other stuff, with electric, you already ARE doing your other stuff while filling back up, so how important is hyper fast charging really?

Do these batteries need active cooling? where you going to put that at on the energica?  it's already heavy enough as it is.

So last Friday I was scheduled for my call with Energica. I dialed into the call but no one from Energica ever came on. Then I get an email from Rob, Energica Aftersales Support thanking me for my call and input! I responded that no one from Energica ever came into the call and I described what I needed done to my Ribelle and how Energica needed to reach out to the dealer I used to get my Energica serviced at. No response back from that email.

I never received my call either.
Have a feeling they are going the way of lightning.  bunch of promises and skipping town leaving a lot of folks holding the bag.

this is not the way any company, startup, transfer or any, should handle it's customer service / customer support.   perhaps it's 'owners' are just totally incompetent and need adult supervision.  it doesn't take much to buy a company on a whim, one of these crypto millionaire kids, with a little luck, a bot and no common sense.  it takes a LOT to keep that company alive and well.  That seems to be severely lacking.

we know about nothing of the new owners, everything is vague and fleeting.   and video soon !!!

What's really going on here?

Guys, give them a chance - and remember that you are half a day behind. My call alone took 30mins instead if the planned 15mins. So when US is up & awake, there might be already a delay from the calls before. My impression was that Rob did factor in safety, but depending on how a call develops it still might lead to a delay.

If you are still interested, just schedule a new appointment using the link in your email invitation.

I know they haven't reached out to TPS in Raleigh, NC yet. Agree, going to be interesting to see what their plan is for getting work done on bikes if they aren't reaching out to dealers.

i wonder if they are just going to move everything to India and just run out of there mainly, like Zero is doing?
With no presence in the US, it makes one wonder what their official stance is?

Impossible to ignore the facts at this point.  Whoever it is that purchased Energica is incompetent.

The most average manager of any small business would be able to put together a business plan, timeline, and communicate the details even if they eventually fall short and run long.

This crew can't be bothered to even try and maintain the most limp level of enthusiasm.

Game over.  Sad but true.

Good luck with that.....heard similar from many others waiting for parts etc...Some have been waiting for more than 18 months....still no light at the end of the tunnel. Many of these bikes are now an expensive unuseable paperweight. Many of these people have had their bikes at a dealer which is now closed or gone out of business...what do they do..??

Energica has not even shipped the equipment to the supposed 'new shop' is the latest i have heard.  it's sitting in boxes on some dock somewhere.

I ask again, for anyone at Energica to answer.

What are you doing for cash flow, mainly cash coming in?

You crowd sourced the cash to get the company but it's going to take much much more than that to even open it back up let alone run it.
you shut down the only operating shop, the only source of income you really had, when you shuttered the San Fran office.  Hell you could even begin with flipping parts to get some cash flow going, have not even seen that.   You sent out a correspondence asking what parts we need, several replied, never to hear another word back from you.

none of the dealers have said they have heard a word from you about 're establishing' relations.  some people i have talked to are thinking you are getting ready to jump ship claiming that nobody supported you as your excuse, when you have not even reached out to any of them.

What's going on here?   for a company that is trying to restart their brand, you sure are not showing anything for it.,

hopefully you didn't just buy the company to intentionally let it fail because you needed the tax write off.

is there ANY update, besides,  wait ... soon.... in a little while..... soon......

Morgan, you had an official energica e mail,  do you still have a job or did they can you too when they let all the senior engineers, design folks, and core team go because they couldn't afford to pay them anymore?

Me thinks it's fruitless to support the Ego, Eva series for further development...they are EV relics first launched in 2014...the new Energica owners should isolate this business unit and sell it or operate it for services only to support existing owners...Experia has hope as a baseline offering...place initial development efforts towards making a decent integrated center-stand and debugging software glitches and expand on active cooling maybe...stay focused on single motorbike objective / platform versus wasting resources in too many directions as was the case previously...EV interest has lost traction in the USA not sure about anywhere else.

Happy with my Eva.
Glad I have ICE bikes too.
This old goat ain't planning for any more bikes...particularly anything new.
Title: Re: Hope for Energica?
Post by: Specter on March 13, 2026, 03:08:31 AM
Ev interest has not lost traction in the usa, not sure how you came up with that idea.

the Experia was well received, there is still a market for it, and their order books were full when ideanomics fucked them.
THAT platform is viable, get it going
the rest, agree, support them, there is still plenty of life in them as for maintenance and repair and eventual battery mod's changeouts etc but go another route possibly for hi perf bikes.  the tech while still top of the line that we have seen so far still.... is a decade old.

lightfighter seems to be the newest pretty boy on the block for the super bikes,  but anyways. maybe like a botique type thing where you custom build the bike if someone wants..

i just don't see energica coming back, they don't have the money and they sure as hell don't seem to have any sort of business sense or gameplan that we have seen.

real simple question.  WHAT is the status of shipping the parts to... ok they say singapore, that's a ruse imo to get past the us customs and shit, they are indian and want to operate out of india.... it's cheaper.....what are the plans on getting there.

where are the crates of parts.  do you have a tracking number(s)_
where are they going, do you even have a building picked out yet that you are going to set up shop in, that's not a storage unit, which iironically, is where they put the entire usa shop at.   The entire repair depot / facility etc that was in san francisco is in boxes rotting in a storage unit right now.  What little money they did have coming in, they killed.  What little customer support they were giving, they killed.

of the initial money you put up for this 'venture'  how much is left.  how much have you spent and on what?   you crowdsourced the money i was told by a few people. two of whom said they were members of the sourcing.  they will need to see where their money is going to.  well being a public business, you really need to show that stuff anyways.... where is your money going to, how much is left?  what are your plans on raising more capital to revive and grow the business. and don't just say, sell bikes, a written out step by step is generally required to get business loans etc etc.

so far we have seen nothing, really heard nothing but muffled fluffing of feathers and hen house squabbling here and there.  been told any day now it's starting back up, videos incoming, a new game plan hatching right now.... and we hear crickets....

more and more it's looking like you clowns graduated from the lightning school of enterprising.

just an opinion.

Aaron.

I got an update from EEMC today
Quote
We’ve now received the revised importer/dealer contract from the new Energica, which we are in the process of signing.

In the meantime, we’re compiling a list of parts requirements for customers. If you have any parts, bodywork, or components you’re looking to replace, please send them over and we’ll include them in our request for pricing and availability.

We now have access to new old stock parts from the new European distribution centre, with supply expected to be supported again by the new factory as production of parts and motorcycles resumes later this year.

On the subject of new bikes — if you are interested in a new model with full warranty, please do let us know. The first model expected back into production is the Experia. While pricing hasn’t been finalised, we’re being advised to expect at least a 20% reduction. Part exchanges welcome.

We’ve also raised the possibility of extended warranties for existing customers’ bikes (subject to inspection by EEMC), which the new Energica operators are seriously considering.

Stonewolf, Thanks for the post. So it seems like European dealers have been contacted and are signing dealership contracts while US dealers have never been contacted, at least mine hasn't. So while it seems Energica is coming back to life it doesn't seem like they are coming back to the US. Maybe one of the European dealers would be willing to supply parts to US riders.

I expect it's more that they're prioritising the markets where they think they're going to do best. They'll be back to the US in time and I expect a parts channel will at least open up given the company's historical focus on customer care and the fact they seem to be continuing that policy by putting existing customers needs ahead of production and examining extended warranties. If you look at other companies even Zero has refocused on the European market and I think the American market just faces too many structural problems from chargers, to market acceptance, to lack of government support.

The 20% price drop is really interesting, that would bring Experia down from 1.5 S1000XRs to 1.17 by UK pricing and maybe more like parity somewhere with a higher purchase grants.

I live in Germany and see the situation also relaxing over here. For the US, I‘m surprised that you guys seem to ignore the tariff impact. The situation is anything but stable and calculable.
Actually, I lost the overview on where we are right now. I just noted something like 25% import tariff and 50% on lithium batteries in case contents are coming from China. I do not know if packing the cells in Europe (well, that’s the former status) qualifies to be excluded from the 50% "Metal" Surcharge Section 232. AFAIK Farasis produces in China, and isn’t Energica using Farasis cells? One last argument: The US market seems so neglicable that even Zero has moved HQ to Europe. So I totally understand if new Energica sits back and observes before making moves in the US.
Can‘t you see this too?

Well considering we have not heard anything official from them i have no idea what they are up to.

i mean, they fired / let go their friggin CEO ffs,   OVER A MONTH AGO AND HAVE NOT MADE ANY OFFICIAL PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENTS OF THIS FACT.  that I am aware of.

How can a company hide such a huge thing from the public like that?  That's something that investors would absolutely like to know about, and id think there is probably some legal obligations too, though not sure on that latter part.  Just seems so shady how they went dark on communications.   Are they getting ready to do a rug pull on us or what?

What happened to all the new video's and amazing wonderful video's and announcements we were to get any day now... a month ago?

What is the status of the shipment to coughcough india-singapore of the new factory.  Is the stuff still sitting on a pier somewhere?  Last i heard they have not even shipped it yet.   do they have a building yet?  where?

what is their current prospectus ?? .. the game plan moving forward.  every company should have one of those... we hear vague mumblings but no real plan.

How much of the original crew is left?  how many people did they fire / let go / quit?  I have a strong feeling that Italian pride and quality is pretty much probably out the window now.  izzat baby!!

Heard the assembly line is back in production in italy and they are making Experia's again, ok so you DO have parts back in now, when the fuck are WE going to start seeing spare parts.  Or is this just another rumor run wild?

speaking of, how are they making an income?  They didn't have  bunch left over from the crowdsourcing after buying the thing, so where is the operating cash coming from now, to sustain payrolls of the super few people left, and general operations running now?  Hopefully they are not into some slimy shit like ideanomics was.  Some transparency would be nice, as nobody wants to see a repeat of that again.

most, i see what you are saying, but still,  they have dealers here who are still interested and they won't even talk to them.  That's incompetent at best, shitty at worst.  There are significant people here who need parts and maintenance, they had a site here which would have avoided those tarriffs when 'assembled' here, in San Francisco.  there were ways around that if needed, but they shut it all down.

in fact the site in San Fran was sustaining itself, was still doing business, when the rest was a mess, and they shut it down.  I can see where you think they are abandoning the US market, but a larger view shows them abandoning ship imo.  I surely hope not, myself and EVERY person who owns one of their bikes, has an investment in them.

where have they opened up anywhere else officially?  I don't see it.  Nothing is open, they are not talking to anyone, phone calls, e mails are left unanswered...  it's not looking too good.

By implementing tariffs on parts governments are basically forcing Asia, with China and India being the largest players, to fully assemble the products and ship them complete. The quality of Asian products is soaring. They have long since bypassed American quality and are better than Europe in most things these days. Why purchase Mercedes when you can purchase Shing Gan Sheo Gat with more luxury at half the price. It's like governments are not seeing the whole picture and think all companies can make all their profits from social media. End-Of-Rant. :)

Farasis is only one of many manufacturers. I would not worry about the brand on the batteries. When companies are buying battery cells (or any product) by the tens/hundreds of thousands they visit the factories, see the production floor and make spot checks. Cheap fakes cannot meet the volumes. Quality is pretty much assured by the quantity.

The US market is still one of the largest single markets in the world. It used to have large wealthy population (the number of well off individuals is unfortunately shrinking fast), but it is small compared to the whole world. For example. US is about 1% of Suzuki total sales. Similar story from many other large companies. US has fickle, litigious, nitpicking customers, bureaucratic hindrances and shipping there costs a fortune. Why would these companies spend lot of money to design products for unpredictable highly regulated shrinking market when they can design and make products for large and growing markets with less bureaucracy nearer to their manufacturing bases.

Have you guys seen the new Energica Motor website?  Looks pretty pro.  Glad to see things getting back!! Now all they need to do is look into Donut Battery and have that 5C charging rate for future bikes.
Also it says that the bikes are built in Modena at least for Eva.  Doubt that is some kind of a typo.... Very good

Interesting that the new Ribelle models are detuned from 169HP to 147HP, so seemingly there's a marketing element at play resulting in engineering tweaks.

Good signals to explain Energica's slow come-back...the website says "Built in Modena" however, which is suspect.

That's a mistake, the page needs proof reading.

The use that number repeatedly as both peak and continuous power (or sustained power as they're calling it) and down in the stats block they do actually give the proper peak power figure of 126kW (169hp).

Extremely annoyingly they're still quoting charge rates in mph instead of kW.
