This video goes fairly deep in investigating what might be inside the battery. Very interesting and does some proper investigative journalism, although obviously no inside info.

Could you explain this? I assume that for cells in series that the same current would be flowing through each cell. For a battery of cells in parallel they would have to be equalised to the same voltage. I can imagine the differences in internal resistance might make a difference to how current flows through parallel cells or voltage between serial cells, but that's about it.

I used to run used Dunlop KR364 (racing intermediates) on the road back in the 90s. I can't find a good photo, but they were shaped like a Toblerone!

I was thinking the same. I don't know about the rest of the world, but here in the UK they don't include MotoE at all in the MotoGP highlight TV show. You have to go and find it on YouTube if you want to watch it. It's no wonder they're not getting the viewing figures if it's hidden away!

I also wasn't getting the expected range on my 4 year old SR/F. Zero replaced the 14.4 battery with a new 15.6 without any argument.

It's easy to complain when companies don't perform as we'd hope. It's always good to remember to say when they do well too.

Cornering and being tipped over feel very different and will do to the gyro/accelerometer combo. In a corner the gyro will sense the real angle in a corner. The accelerometer will give the same signal as if you're upright - in the same way the a bucket of water on your pillion seat wouldn't (in theory) spill or fall off.

I had an accident a while ago that left me with broken ribs and my Zero FXS with a small scratch on a small non load bearing bracket on the frame. My insurance company wrote it off and insisted the frame was cut in half so it souldn't be salvaged. Ridiculous.

You've dropped all three? You're either very unlucky or very clumsy.

The only heavy(ish) bike I remember dropping was my first proper bike. A shiny new ZZR600 that I decided to take off the sidestand with the steering lock on.  :-[ I was so angry at myself I think I just picked it up like it was nothing. Hulk power.

Sorry to hear about the crash what I assume is a fairly damaged bike, but glad to hear you're OK. The bit about not being able to move had me worried. Wiggling my fingers and toes used to be the first thing I did after a big crash. (I've not raced for over 20 years, but there have been a few highsides and some impacts with tyrewalls I'm not going to forget in a hurry.)

However, if you've not even got your knee down then you're still very much at the beginning of your on-track journey. It might be worth dialing back the comments on what other riders should and shouldn't have been doing. To someone with a bit more track experience your riding may well seem exactly like the girl you're ripping into. Everyone's got to learn and we've all been the newbie at some point.

I recently rode my Zero into London which I haven't done in a few years. There's now a large area which has a 20mph speed limit enforced with lots of cameras. That was frustrating enough, but there are now also quite a few e-bikes that clearly have been modified and don't conform to the UK's "pedal assist up to 15mph" rules. With no number plate and hence no worry about tickets they we're happily speeding, jumping red lights, etc. I need my licence and don't know all the camera locations so I was having to stick to 20mph. Being overtaken by these clueless idiots was no fun at all.

I agree with both of you. The bikes Zero announced are of no interest to me, but I assume they researched the market and expect them to sell.
