2014 Zero FX Battery Module
« on: June 16, 2018, 05:04:45 AM »

For sale is a battery module from a 2014 Zero FX. The bike had about 30 000km on it and only discharged below 50 percent 3 times.

This is a 2014 module so from what I've read it has the 25ah Farsis cells in it. The module is fully functional and always stored in a heated garage in the winter.

The pack should work on the newer models as well that have the hot swappable setup.

My bike got written off and the insurance company said I could take the extra module out before I gave it to them. The pack did not suffer any damage whatsoever.

Looking to get $1400 CAD for it. The same pack new from Zero is about $2200 USD from the dealers here.

The battery is located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I don't mind shipping but the buyer would be expected to pay all shipping costs.

If anyone is interested I'd be willing to go down to $1000 CAD.

Probably gonna cannibalize the pack and make a sweet electric longboard soon.

You might want to try posting your offer on the elmoto forum.  The DIY guys there are always looking for a cheap battery pack, especially one that is pre-assembled and functioning.  http://www.elmoto.net/forum.php

@Fenado you may want to try endless-sphere, too. I'd be surprised if someone there doesn't pick this up for $1000 CAD.

I still have the module however curiosity got the better of me and I took it apart. I kept all the parts and everything is still in working order. The only thing that is damaged is the steel outer case that was riveted together. I drilled out the rivets.

EDIT: I'm sorry - I confused this posting with one that indicated a dead battery. Do with this what you like, but if anyone wants to ship battery parts to me for study/documentation, or to send photos thereof, I'll gladly accept and compensate appropriately.

I think you should find a safe industrial disposal site to handle the cells, for your safety.

For the sake of the unofficial manual / wiki, I'd like extensive photos of every part if you don't mind. You may contact me at this username at gmail dot com.

If it's not too much trouble, just mail all the parts except for the cells, please. I'll gladly pay for them for study.
