I still have the module however curiosity got the better of me and I took it apart. I kept all the parts and everything is still in working order. The only thing that is damaged is the steel outer case that was riveted together. I drilled out the rivets.
EDIT: I'm sorry - I confused this posting with one that indicated a dead battery. Do with this what you like, but if anyone wants to ship battery parts to me for study/documentation, or to send photos thereof, I'll gladly accept and compensate appropriately.
I think you should find a safe industrial disposal site to handle the cells, for your safety.For the sake of the unofficial manual / wiki, I'd like extensive photos of every part if you don't mind. You may contact me at this username at gmail dot com.
If it's not too much trouble, just mail all the parts except for the cells, please. I'll gladly pay for them for study.
