His email is the same one I got for using the 'Book' button on the configuration tool. IIRC you used the pre-order form which probably just sends a different generic email. I think both methods just notify Energica of your interest in their motorcycle and the info is forwarded to a nearby dealer/they reach out to confirm interest.

I received a phone call from Tom Hoff from  Energica in Southern CA. I was told they knew about my 3K$ deposit with Randy at A&S cycles in RoseVille. They expect the Experias to be in the USA on time in early September.

I would think so as long as they have your phone number.  I have done business with A&S cycles in the past, so they have my phone number. But Energica probably also has it as I have done business with them too.

I just checked and the email I received from them when I used the 'Book' button has all my contact info so they have it. Plus CalMoto has it as well. Either way I should be good I hope. Excited for the reviews after this week, press event this week in Italy.

Don't confuse the Energica issue with other keyless vehicles. I have such on my Harley and it works great, at least  until the battery in the FOB gets weak (then the FOB must be away from the bike to put in my PIN code). A dead FOB battery would cause no such problem, just when the FOB battery is weak, it then won't let the bike start even with a pin code).  This is a minor issue, IMO, at least when one knows that can happen.  I prefer the FOB to keys by far.


My Chevy Bolt also uses a such FOB. Works perfectly every time (so far).


I also have a FOB for my Tesla M3, but it's a stupid type where I need to press the button on the FOB to drive the car or unlock the doors, trunk or frunk. Still better than a key (or any of the other Tesla non-FOB methods, IMO).


I have heard about the issue in the Energica. That is NOT typical with keyless.  I am assuming Energica fixed that issue with their new Experica. They must know about it and realize it needs fixing by now.

My 2011 Ducati Multistrada had similar problems, maybe it’s an Italian thing. I still preferred it over a key, though.

Or, since it is an intermittent issue, perhaps it is RF interference  on the carrier frequency of the FOB here in the USA. Especially if one notices it works better in garages or in canyons away from cities, etc.  Most FOBs in the USA work at around 350 MHZ--using rolling code technology.


Perhaps Italy uses a different carrier frequency that is more crowded in the USA than there.

Skodz, Completely agree on the keyless system, mine typically takes 2-3 attempts to get the bike turned on. Would never get a keyless system again.

Does it happen in all locations or is it less flakey when far from the city and transmitters and other possible interference?

It happens in all locations, anytime I try to start the bike. There are times it may start on the first time but they are rare. Have also seen it take four attempts though.

I hear Energica already fixed that issue in the newer bikes. They now use a different supplier for the FOB stuff.

I have driven the Experia yesterday. This bike feels incredibly nimble and light. The drive train is also next level with regards to quietness and smoothness. Steering, braking is super easy. Also incredibly more comfy on cobblestone road than Ribelle. Power I estimate more than my 2018 SS9, maybe little less than emce SS9. These test bikes had some quirks being pre-production: more extensive settings, but crappy to change (should be better). I also could not see the kWh/100 km unfortunately.windscreen did give turbulence when not ducking, but so did my bmw RS screen in the past.  We charged at a Tesla SC stall and initializing went surprisingly fast and stable.   At the spot a driving school manager ordered one. This is a motorcycle that one cannot deny.

Is the screen electric up and down or manual settings, or maybe fixed but it looks adjustable.

Don't know what your experience is with the keyless, but it seldom works first try. It's a cool gimmick but a key works better imho. Also, turning the bike on and then off again is a bit silly to put the steering lock on.

I was told by a 2022 Rebelle rider that the issue was taken care of in the 2022 models. He said Energica found a new supplier for the keyless system module, and the new keyless system works perfectly.

Does the Experia have a centerstand? Keyless?  Tell me as much about it as possible on the stuff that is not in their very poor advertisements.  I have the bike on order, but I am curious what I will be getting.
