Launch edition gets all the luggage, racking, heated grips, and other fancy pants stuff.

That's what I was hoping for, but I wonder why they do not show that on the pre-order page. And also, if it comes with all the goodies at the $25,880.00 price tag, why does it say "starts at $25,880"?   What stock stuff  can be added to that 25.88K$ to get to the end price?

Something just isn't adding up.

Is the 25.88K$ price a fully loaded bike or is it the price of it stripped down without the goodies?

IOW, is that 25.88K$ price  the launch price of the fully loaded bike or is it the price of it stripped down as shown?

The evidence seems to indicate that the 25.88K$ is NOT the launch price of the fully loaded bike. Does anybody know for sure?

I guess nobody yet knows. But when I receive my bike in a few months or whenever, I will post a true break-down of the exact true costs here in this thread, and what the bike comes with for that base price of 25.880K$.

Thanks, when did you order and when did you receive that notice?  I only received an email which said:


"Dear Donald,We have received your details correctly. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible."
Both were on June 1. The first day possible to preorder.

I ordered on-line June 1 and got the confirmation e-mail 20 minutes later. I was changing a previous SS9+ order and was advised to use the new Configurator "so it registers with Italy to go to the new Configurator for the Experia, although there aren’t many options with the Launch Edition, to confirm."

After being a BMW customer for the past 25 years, every time I see a new "launch edition" model, I think it will come from the factory with a kitchen sink.

His email is the same one I got for using the 'Book' button on the configuration tool. IIRC you used the pre-order form which probably just sends a different generic email. I think both methods just notify Energica of your interest in their motorcycle and the info is forwarded to a nearby dealer/they reach out to confirm interest.

I received a phone call from Tom Hoff from  Energica in Southern CA. I was told they knew about my 3K$ deposit with Randy at A&S cycles in RoseVille. They expect the Experias to be in the USA on time in early September.


We had a nice chat about EVs as he and his wife are looking for an EV car so I explained how my 2022 Chevy Bolt compares to my 2018 Tesla M3 AWD-LR. All the little small features I like in the Bolt that do not exist in the Tesla. But I did my best to explain the pluses and minuses of each. Even though they are both EVs, they do not compare well at all. I find the Chevy Bolt more fun to drive than the Tesla. I really like the way the regen works MUCH better in the Bolt.


We even talked about Electric motorcycles for a little bit.

I would be happy to pay the extra ~$400.00 for the keyless ignition, but I was never asked.

Don't know what your experience is with the keyless, but it seldom works first try. It's a cool gimmick but a key works better imho. Also, turning the bike on and then off again is a bit silly to put the steering lock on.

Skodz, Completely agree on the keyless system, mine typically takes 2-3 attempts to get the bike turned on. Would never get a keyless system again.

Don't confuse the Energica issue with other keyless vehicles. I have such on my Harley and it works great, at least  until the battery in the FOB gets weak (then the FOB must be away from the bike to put in my PIN code). A dead FOB battery would cause no such problem, just when the FOB battery is weak, it then won't let the bike start even with a pin code).  This is a minor issue, IMO, at least when one knows that can happen.  I prefer the FOB to keys by far.


My Chevy Bolt also uses a such FOB. Works perfectly every time (so far).


I also have a FOB for my Tesla M3, but it's a stupid type where I need to press the button on the FOB to drive the car or unlock the doors, trunk or frunk. Still better than a key (or any of the other Tesla non-FOB methods, IMO).


I have heard about the issue in the Energica. That is NOT typical with keyless.  I am assuming Energica fixed that issue with their new Experica. They must know about it and realize it needs fixing by now.
