[UK S Rider]

Hi there, I'm a new Zero rider in the UK.

I've been riding bike for about 25 years and this is the first electric one. I'm loving it.

Cam I ask about Tires. I need a new set as I've worn them out. I've not enjoyed the Diabo Corsa 2's that it came with, well not for my riding at least.

I like to ride fast and throw it into corners, but they feel as if they haven't warmed up yet. I looked at the Pirelli city tyre, but they seem to really only be for bikes up to 300cc. Do we need to chose a harder compound tyre as the Zero is soo torque'y?

So far I'm LOVING my Dunlop GPR300s.  It is winter here and the roads are still cold so I'm not riding like a madman at the moment but when I had them installed the weather was still warm and they provided plenty of grip.  I just don't know how long they'll last.

Please note that I am NOT a typical rider.  I care more for how LONG a set of tires will last than how much ultimate grip they'll provide when I'm riding like a hooligan.  In that light, I was perfectly happy with the Pirellii Sport Demon tires that came on my 2016 S.  Those tires lasted 16,000 miles.  The Diablo Corsas on my 2018 didn't even make 9K miles, and I wasn't using them any differently than I used the Sport Demons.

If the Dunlops don't last, my next set will be the Sport Demons again.

Said in the other thread, but again here for posterity - Michelin PR5s will do you well, they warm up very fast and grip like glue. Mileage is a bit lower than some harder tyres but on the Zero with its torque characteristics and no TC you probably want as much glue-like grip as you can get. And they are amazing in the rain.

I've got Diablo Rosso III tires on my 16 SR, put on by the previous owner, and they are fine.  I'm pretty sure I got better durability from the BT45 Battlax tires I used to run on the 14SR.  Depends what you are looking for.  If a lot of highway driving, you want a something with a durable compound on the main wear point, and you can still have good cornering with a dual compound like the Battlax.  They are heavy duty though, made for heavy cruisers, might be a rougher ride than others.

I did a bunch of research and found limited options in our sizes. However, I ended up getting what many Moto3 pro's use the RS10. Installed them and fined them awesome, quick warm up and amazing grip. Don't know yet how long they will last and don't care! I do track days on the S21's on a BMW S1000R and they have impressive performance but the RS10's have even a higher level of grip.

I don't know what size tyres your bike has but for ICE bikes Michelin Road Pilot 4's and Road 5's are pretty had to beat for all weathers and temperatures. They are amazing in cold and wet.
 I can't vouch for the same for E vehicles because of the more continuous torque application , but they may be worth a try.
