Hello all,

Apparently (maybe some software upgrade?) scrambled my username, so it now appears as:
 Ð‘улгаков

instead of :
??

And I can't seem to login to the forum unless I use a password reset link. Can an admin contact me or just reset my username?

I did mention my username, it got mangled in the post. It is in the Cyrillic characterset, which was never a problem until sometime in the past month or two when it stopped working.

Try putting a space between each letter of your username.

Mac-style apostrophes are borked too, I noticed in BTR's postings. As well as smileys (not in BTR's posts).

Simple Machines Forum is antiquated and causing a lot of problems. Over time it'll get more difficult to upgrade away from it. E.g. Xenforo 2.0 does not have a SMF import function anymore; the recommendation is to install Xenforo 1.5, import from SMF, then upgrade to Xenforo 2.0.

I'm guessing a setting got changed so unicode or utf-8 no longer functions.

My original attempt to join the forum, never even got an activation email sent and refused to let me reregister ( it said I was "awaiting activation email" which never arrived.
I had to try and register using my old ( but still occasionally used) gmail address.
