Misleading ads on EMF
« on: February 15, 2019, 08:00:07 AM »

I would encourage the management of this site to vet the ads,
and not host misleading banners like this one.

There are a lot of newbies here asking questions and such,
let's not mislead them into a potentially harmful site with an
ad that looks at a glance like it's a login.

I doubt EMF has discretion over what ads that Google AdChoices decides to show. Google should be called out for letting something like that through. Maybe there is a "Report this ad" button on the ad.

For a while I was getting a State Farm insurance ad that was written in something like hieroglyphics.  I clicked on a button at the upper edge of the display and was able to report it as something that I didn't want to see.  Now when it shows up I get a blue screen within the ad with white crosses across it.
