At the risk of showing something that isn't what you asked for, which was a S.  This is listed in the 2013+ Zero section and not the for sale section so maybe it could work for you.

These were 2014 Police bikes so a few more bells and bits.  Looks like it has street tires on it already so only DS thing about it is longer fork travel and a bit higher ride height.
Good  luck.
They are really nice bikes.

That's very kind of you to point it out to me and I have been in communication with him.

I assume you've also seen the S on eBay UK. Not sure, but I think it's a 2012.

That is a 2012.  It is advisable to only buy 2013+ because Zero no longer can get parts for 2012 bikes if something needs to be replaced.

I hadn't noticed the section!

I think it's been on a few times. Zeros don't seem to sell on eBay when they come up. I think nobody wants to pay much for an older model and sellers don't want to take too much of a loss.

Really? Wow. That can't fill buyers with confidence. Four years old and your shiny expensive bike could be unrepairable junk! Who knows if that'll happen to current models.

Every year prior to 2013 was a small batch production run and a somewhat unique set of choices. The 2013+ models share a great deal of common parts and represent an actual platform (such as it is). This is why the Zero forum sections split that way.

This was the case starting in 2013.  They made changes to the components to work with a different voltage and committed to it.  They will support their 2013+ bikes completely and this is not something that is likely to repeat now that they produce bikes in significantly larger quantities.

I would *not* pay eight grand for a 2012 myself.

Thats around the value of a 2014 FX with both batteries... or a high miles '15

The price on that 2012 S is dropping steadily. Now £6495. Still wouldn't pay that myself.
