It does indeed. No mention of how well those nanowires stand up to vibration. Hopefully the gel helps with that too.

Lithium ion polymer is used in some (hyundai) vehicle batteries already, they say they're 20% more economical - space wise - and they include a lifetime warranty on the battery. Citing the polymer being a gel base versus electrolyte base. Better thermal properties and cycle rates too.

I work for Hyundai. Not too savvy on the techie stuff beyond that, but I wonder if that's a similar (but obviously extrapolated) technology being referenced?

"Lithium ion polymer" by itself does not tell you much, it is a very generic term and can either mean a polymer electrolyte or more typically simply a polymer casing with a gelled electrolyte - typically referred to as a "pouch" cell, vs a hard-case prismatic cell typically with a liquid electrolyte. Li-po batteries have been around in commercial production since the mid 2000's.
