Road Runner magazine in the June issue has an article about Tom Tomczyk's trip from the US to the southern tip of South America. This trip claims to be the longest ever electric motorcycle ride and is awaiting verification by Guinness World Records. Tom rode a 2012 S with ZF9 pack and only used an additional QuiQ-dci 72 charger.

Do we know if he made it all the way to the tip of South America?
The new TV show, “Long Way Up” claims that they are the first to ride that far on an electric motorcycle - wondering if that’s true?

There's no record of someone doing it before, though since they L1 charged the bikes the whole way and nearly always didn't use their support chargers you could have done it on a Zero.

My recollection, based upon posts on this forum, is that a fellow rode a 2012 Zero S, exactly like the one that I used to own, from New York into South America. He was trying to make it to the southern tip of that continent, but I believe that his bike suffered a terminal chassis failure somewhere in a South American country and the last that I heard is that he took the motor and batteries out of the bike and put them into a houseboat and was powering them with solar panels.  I think he also married a woman that he met along the way.  There was talk of making a movie of his adventures, but unfortunately nothing ever came of that. (Please forgive me if I have some of the details wrong, it has been about 7 years since I last heard the story and I don't want to search the forum back that far to find the thread.)

I know this dude, If someone wonders what happened… He made it to the last tip in South America, unfortunately the documentary didn’t saw the light because he broke up with the girlfriend after the Ganges solar boat documentary, none of the series came out.
