Zero sold 17 motorcycles in France during the first 4 months of 2014

And 22 Zero's were sold in the Netherlands in the first 4 months!

This beats the sales of MV Augusta (21), Beta (18), Moto Guzzi (17) and Sym (16).

Well, I am impressed.  Zero has finally gotten their European distribution and sales network going, after a slow start last year.  Next thing you know, the Australians will want to know where they can buy a Zero.

I'll be more impressed when they are back in the UK... Just saying...

My dealer has had a lot of interest in the SR, and has had to knock back 3-4 people because of Zeros pull out. With Brammo now in the UK market (sort of) and the SR getting a lot of love, my feeling is that Zero could not have timed a worse pull out of a market had they tried.

3 of those 4 people are probably tyre kickers though Justin, and even if they weren't 4 SR's wouldn't make enough money to pay Dan's wages.

Well, I am impressed.  Zero has finally gotten their European distribution and sales network going, after a slow start last year. 

I think it was not the network - the problem was the recalls. The bikes had been on hold (in European Headquarter)  till all problems got fixed and so we got the bikes when summer was gone

So now I'm back to the drawing board to find another electric vehicle... Going to be difficult to find something that is being sold and serviced close by..

I just received the latest newsletter from Cleanrider.com.  JP says that Zero is making rapid inroads into Europe.  Here is what his article reports:  "Zero has now 5 distributors in France: Paris, Toulouse, Monaco, Strasbourg and Rouen. In Germany there are now 13 dealerships selling Zero motorcycles; 5 in Holland, 4 in Spain, 3 in Belgium, 2 in Austria, and 1 each in Luxembourg, Switzerland and the isle of Jersey."

So it sounds like Zero could have a very good year selling their electric motorcycles in Europe.

Both. The registration was taking several months, due to god knows what reasons given (got several). Then there was a delay because they didn't have the recall tools (no problem there, understandable), then they discovered that there was a problem with the battery, which took 2 ½ months to fix, and when it was fixed they still didn't send the bike. So 4 weeks later (going into 6 months delay) I pulled the plug and sent an email to the Zero CEO. No response from him or any others in the email, but a few hours later Zero France finally agreed to reimburse me (which hasn't happened yet).

we can buy just not happy too when the cost is about $5000 more than USA and europe,(even after exchange rate and transportation and good margin),  many would have bought including me , but not when there is price gouging. I going to wait till price becomes affordable, will probably wait for 2015 model. Hopefully have ABS and more range. Hopefully 2015 will also bring more competition with Brammo , Bultaco , BMW etc.

No, it's a double whammy, the dealer is also to blame. Though established and with a good reputation, they screwed up here badly, foremost by not communicating but also moving very slowly and forgetting to do things right.

Talked to BMW today and will be test driving their new electric scooter which has very promising performance.
