Next Friday and Saturday, my dealer, Mission Motorcycles in Daly City, CA is hosting two days highlighting Zero motorcycles.  They will be offering test rides, a free lunch and an opportunity to speak with a Zero factory representative.  The function will be held on Friday, May 16 from noon to 5 pm and on Saturday, May 17, from 10 am to 4 pm.  Seems like a great idea to encourage the public to visit their shop and experience riding electric motorcycles and to let the odd EV enthusiast grill a Zero rep.   

It would be nice if other dealers outside CA can promote the Zero brand in this way too.  Demo rides are the best way to get the public enthusiastic about riding electric, in my opinion.

I visited the shop yesterday and the salesman told me that Mission Motorcycles just passed Hollywood Electric as the biggest Zero selling dealer in the world (at least for that day - they just sold one more bike than Harlan so far this year).

In Washington State, Triumph of Seattle (formerly Lynnwood Cycle Barn) is also hosting a Zero demo event that weekend with representatives from Zero present.

Damn! it's too late!.. I will quit San Francisco tomorrow ( Monday) ... I am in vacation in S-F since Fryday... I would have loved to try a 2014 in S-F !! This city is so nice!

Anyway i plan visiting Zero tomorrow at Scott Valley anyway

Doc, if you visit Mission Motorcycles (located on Mission Street, just south of the SF city limits) I am sure that Theresa or Nancy will be happy to let you test ride one of their Zeros.  (But call first to be sure that they are open on Monday's.)  However, the area around Scotts Valley would be a much nicer place to ride if you can get Zero to loan you one of their bikes.  It is going to be hot down there tomorrow, though.

Off topic here..... How many 2014 Zero's have been sold thus far in total. Any guesstimates ? How many are projected to be sold by end of year and how does it compare to Brammo sales. Does anyone have any insight into this ? Just curious about the volumes....

If I recall correctly, the motor recall notice said that 94 2014 Zeros had been produced between the end of December and sometime around the first of March when the recall was announced.   I have heard that Zero hopes to sell as many as 2000 bikes this year.  Personally, I am not sure the market is quite ready to absorb that many sales yet.

I just returned from the Friday edition of the Demo Days.  I tried to get some info on the 2015 models from the factory reps, but they weren't biting.  However, I did find out that Zero now has 60 dealers in the U.S. and Canada. The group rides seemed well attended and groups of 5 were leaving about every 20 minutes, which I thought was not bad for a Friday afternoon. The shop Sales Manager said that the previous day they had given over a hundred test rides at Google HQ.

While Mission Motorcycles continued their Demo Days at the shop today, I displayed my Zero at the local high school fund-raising auto show.  I managed to give out a couple of brochures and answered a few questions, but other than that, there was not much interest in my bike.  However, I did steer a couple of people toward the Demo Days event and suggested that they give the Zeros a test ride and try out their free lunch.

Yesterday I visited the Zero Motorcycles Roadshow in Amsterdam. I rode the DS model 2014 and was impressed by the huge torque in Sport mode. As a Brammo Enertia Plus rider I was just curious how Zero bikes would handle.
Nice opportunity for petrol heads to ride electric. On saturday in Rotterdam 2 persons were convinced right away and bought a Zero!
