I wanted to provide a quick update regarding Energica in the U.S.
Stefano and I are no longer with Energica Inc., and the South San Francisco office is currently closed.

I was laid off in January and although I am no longer with the company I am still committed to helping the community by providing independent support.

Chris, that is so sad!

Your help with advice and spare parts was invaluable and honestly a big part of what made me hold on to my Ribelle. Otherwise I probably would own an ICE bike now.

For sure I am glad to hear that you will support us here in the forum, but my sincere hope is that you will return to your old job, once Energica is running again.

So sad to hear this Chris.  Wish there was some way I could help you somehow.  If you need any sort of job reference or anything, please reach out to me, i'd be happy to do whatever I can to help you get back on your feet and back at what you love best.  I know you are anchored in California, but if you ever head over to Fla, hit me up, id love to take you fishing one day.

With your skill set, you will be able to find a job real easy elsewhere or go at it on your own.  There are a lot of E bikes out there, and yes each is VERY unique but there is a core knowledge about working with any/all of them which you deeply posses.  You could easily go at it on your own working on them.

Getting laid off / fired sucks, especially from what you thought was your dream job, but looking back on my years, you don't see it at first but, it's always been a blessing in disguise and a solid stepping stone onto something bigger and better for you.  Your still young, as far as job markets go, but you posess something many others don't, a solid core knowledge and resume.

Take a few weeks off, it'll be a purge and much needed break, clear your mind, then come back at it, fresh and ready to go.

FWIW Lightfighter is looking for people to test their products I believe if I read their page correctly, reach out to them, it's a shot and a start.  With your background you would hit the street running with them I bet.

We deeply appreciate you still being willing to support the Energica community but nothing is free.  Start a business if you have not already done so, that gives people a way to pay you for your services, but more importantly, a way to write off expenses so you can lower your tax burden.  With the way ther IRS seems to be watching every Fkn dime that gets send back and forth between us, having a solid way to paper trail and write it off is a good thing.  If you start getting dinged with 1099s from zelle, poopal, and the likes, it's a great way to 'explain' them and lowers the risk of audits .vs. pushing them on just a personal income.  anyways.....

Please don't be a stranger, and I honestly for once believe I can speak for the entire community here when I say that, if there is ANYTHING we can do to help you, reach out, and we all deeply appreciate all the support you have given us, both on duty and off duty in keeping our bikes running.

did some looking around, made some overseas calls, and other sort of stuffs.
the new owners are indian i believe, the singapore connection is probably a tarriff avoidance thing im thinking.
it appears they laid off / fired / forced to resign most of the original crew of Energica, and intend on replacing them with their people.
as for setting up the new shop, i have not confirmed it but was lead to believe that all the stuff is basically sitting in boxes waiting to be sent somewhere, not moving an inch.  If i am mistaken id love to hear the update as to where the cargo is at, heading to.
California is shut down the shop is emptied out.

Sounds to me like a bunch of kids crowd sourced some money together to buy a motorcycle company because hey' it's cool, but have no idea really how to run a business.  All these moves they have made so far, scream of that.   Hopefully they are sincere about wanting to restart it and didn't buy it to purposely die so they can claim it as a write off on their overall 'portfolio'.  We seen what happened last time some 'investment type' bought the company.

Given what i am hearing from shaking the weeds, and seeing, and from the basically total lack of any real communications with any substantive content from them, it's not looking good IMO.

I would like to see what their finances look like.  Ok, whoopee you bought the company, congrats, NOW do you have the money to actually make it run.  At this point, it's probably going to be about 5 million just to get back into production again.  Where are they getting income from to sustain the company?  They sure as fuck aint selling bikes or parts.  They let all of their talent go, the mechs, the techs, the senior engineers, and so on, closed down the ONE shop, that actually kept them alive through all of this (nice way to thank the people who saved your ass you clowns).  What's their plan?  They have none that we've seen.

Well at least this time around, when it goes into bankruptcy again, it won't be with 20 million in debt over its head and it can be bought for a song, so the new owners can get it 3rd hand for a steal of a deal and make it work.  If I thought anyone was interested, id consider looking into a crowd funding of owners to buy it and try to put it back together again.

what's so sad about all of this is, they were on the brink of profitability, the Experia was about to start screaming, they had a bunch of orders, but the ideanomics mother fuckers purposely let them rot.  more of them should have ended up in prison for what they did and how they cooked their books etc IMO.   It wasn't like they were trying to re-invent the wheel, they already had one, an electric one, rounded the corners off and it started rolling, until.....

Anyone official with Energica have ANYthing to say about this?

So sorry to hear this Chris! You and Stefano have been absolutely wonderful especially during such an uncertain time. Thank you so much for you help so far and offer to continue support (outside of the company)! Regardless of the impact, I will be sharing my thoughts on this with new management when I have the opportunity.

I don't think people realize just how awesome Chris and Stefano really were.  This company was their heart and soul, all you had to do was talk to them to see that.  They always went out of their way to please the costomer, and had such pride in their product, which you could see the moment, any time they spoke about it.  They put so much of their own time into the place, trying to keep it alive, keeping it open for the customers during the bankruptcy, and all of that, was an act of love on both of their parts.  To be thrown away like trash like this, well, enough said on that mentality, we already know what time of day THAT is.

go ahead, replace all the talent with your own people, they don't have the tribal knowledge, you'll see soon enough how costly that is going to be.  Well, actually, maybe not, because the way things seem to be going, you may never open your doors again.

so where are the parts being shipped to? you have to have an address already to ship them.
where is the factory going to open up at? singapore, or funneled theu singapore via india?
do you have a lease yet?  have you hired new people yet to replace those laid off/fired?
how about introducing your new team to us?  if you are going to do business, like you promised, wouldn't it be nice to know whom we will be working with, besides the one person who is peddling your propoganda?
when do you expect the parts / machinery to arrive at their new home?
when do you expect the factory to be opened back up?
when do you expect to start buying / making parts to help people fix their broken bikes?
when do you expect to open your doors back up, even if it's just repair parts?
what is your business model?
what is your current plan to roll out the grand reopening?
if i were to place an order today for parts, when is the earliest i can expect to maybe see something?
what are your plans,and what are you currently doing to entice new dealers to sell your stuff / fix your stuff?
since you are going to online only, what is in it for someone to be an 'energica shop', why would they want to do that? what is in it for them?  don't say bragging rights, that don't mean shit on the day rent is due.
what countries are you going to have service in? which ones get abandoned, we already see the us got the shaft.
inquiring minds would like to know.

It makes no sense to me that they would let one of their best mechanics go.
Also, why would they close the San Francisco location,since the Bay Area is a popular EV area?

No doubt, another EV company will hire you and pay you twice the salary that Energica was paying you :-)

This is a tragedy. You guys were very much part of the goodwill the owners and potential owners had towards the brand. I truly believe someone with your work ethic and passion will always land on their feet, but if you want anything from the community you have given so much to, please let any of us know. This is also a move that does not engender a great deal of faith in the current managers.
