So i busted the tip off the key to my bike the other day, stupid thing i did.
besides the energica dealer which is an extinct species currently, where else can we get keys made at that work?

they look sort of like some Ducatti Keys, and also, am told that for the corsa bikes, you can get away with a dumb key, it don't need the chip in it.

in THAT case, can't you really then, just put a simple toggle somewhere to twist two wires together like you turned the key?

with the smart key, is there a way to bypass that, ie the computer sees it and sends a logic 'high' on pin 12 or some goofy shit, and you can just float a volt somewhere to simulate the it's ok signal, or will it just not function period w/o the magic key in place?

since the key for corsa does not need brains, this tells me, it IS a software issue, how hard to bypass that and put a normal type key on it for the road bikes?

im good with putting the proper key on it, but what if they become no longer available, are we eventually borked or what can we do?

If you need to, you can tape the chip part of your key near the ignition and use any dumb key that fits. At this point the security issue is a minor thing.

Many have replaced the ignition with a switch. I've used a 12v switch controlled by an app.

There were issues with my Zero ignition the other day. 100 bucks for a new one (key is without a chip), plus at least two hours of work to replace. The screws that hold it in place are tamperproof. They're basically torqued into place, then the hex part of the head is broken off, leaving only flat surface.
Turns out the ignition mechanism is identical to a Benelli bike, but also used (with different wiring) in some MotoGuzzi, Aprilia, CFMoto. Less than 30 from China, including shipping and tariffs. The tamperproof screws will be replaced with a hex head screws.

Thanks TS i might end up doing just that.  just sounds easier overall, gorilla tape the head somewhere inconspicuous and use the dumb key. im thinking any locksmith should be able to replicate it.  any ideas what kinf of bike key works for sure?

Are there no universal blank keys available? Generic Italian like ZADI branded with a chip. To be be cut by a key shop and programmed to the bike with the orange key?

That's what i am going to find out,  i have not been to the locksmith yet but i think it's a generic type key.  there's a smart key that has the chip in it and a dumb key ill call it with no chip.  If i remember correctly, the bike actually does the programming i believe, the orange key just lets it you know that you are daddy and  to dump the old data and get ready to read in the new keys.
