Hello all, getting the B1002 tail light error constantly again. Any one know where one can get the license plate bulb assembly? I've resolved this a couple years ago but that time it was some lose wiring. Thanks! Joe

@Don, in your quoted thread you mention a working replacement light purchased from AF1. Can you please specify that for others if they need a replacement.

If the bike's electic controls work like in case of the indicators, it will not accept a replacement light with much different power.

And I would not assume that all Energias use the same lights. The OP should mention which year and model he has.

But very cool, I did comment in your post you shared (and the original one was from me) but I guess never revisited it. While this did happen to me 2+ years ago it was very different symptoms. Then it had many different light errors and not all the time. I could go 2 hours before I would get an error. That time is was some internal wiring that was loose, not the license plate bulb. Now, as soon as I go 1MPH I get the error and it never goes away until I turn it off.
I have the ability and tools to solder but not great at it. Ill look into your resistors configuration and see if I can figure it out.

before you go molesting your bike, might want to check a few basic things first.

open the light up look in there see if there is any corrosion, loose wires, rust or loose stuff you can fix.  if it is something loose you might be able to tap it with a soldering iron and fix it.

i believe overseas they use led's in some of the bulbs but in the states because of some stupid law, they have to use incandescent bulbs.  you can't swap the two out, the electronics on the bike won't like that.

with that being said.
if AF 1 does not have any assemblies left,  Energica of new england has parts too he might be able to part with something.

Also Energica USA is still open and they do have some parts laying around,  have you reached out to them to see if maybe they can send you something.

True. And it was odd. I did a Charge point dc charge yesterday for a good 30 mins. When it stopped at 88% (Mine never charges to 100% since the latest firmware either) I started another charge session. It ended in about a min with it still at 88%. I rode for 1 hour with no error at all, Which has never happened before. I turned it off at 69% and back on and immediately got the error again. And this recent time, a couple weeks ago, I got this error was after a lvl 2 charge point kiosk.
Im not saying that Charge point caused the error but it seems odd.
So Ill see if I can procure a new license plate bulb assembly. If not ill ride with that error and the service wrench for a while.

i've heard some rumors of charge point corrupting the software on the bike, not sure on that though.
i do know they do not work out here, i tried them a few times on my bikes and it went snakeshit, kept like cycling but would never charge.  the control unit locked up too and i had to wait like 2 minutes for it to like finally shut off and reset itself.

if it is corrupting software that is very strange, as id think one could write software to be' read only' and any inputs just get shuffled to the screen ,bit bucket or what, no thrown in live cell/stat/memory of your os.
