Zero vs Grom trip comparison
« on: May 13, 2025, 08:29:21 PM »

You might get a kick out of watching this Revzilla 500-mile trip comparison between the Honda Grom and a Zero S:

Great fun video, that. Not sure why he seems to get such crappy range out of that Zero! I literally go out riding with my friend on a Grom all the time here and I often come back with more range on the dash than I started out with ... easily getting 140 miles or more.

The 12kW 3-phase charging really is worth having :)

It was a good video, I was a bit trepidatious opening it but thankfully they were neutral on EVs (they've generally been dubious about them preferring to clutch at the hydrogen straw). I also do wonder about the mileage but mainly I did a lot of eye rolling over the weird charging detours though I get it, they were trying to save money.

Maybe all of that junk food he was eating also ate into the Zero's range.  ;)

Just shocking that Zero continue to refuse to address the issue. They've had 6 years!

I thought nothing would surprise me anymore, but I’m actually shocked the belt snapped. I thought they sorted those belt issues out years ago, back in the late Gen 2 days.

Nah, worse than ever now. At least the belt takes 5 minutes to replace now though, so there is that.
