there is nothing wrong with bringing in new people to your brand, or new types of people, but what these woke morons consistently fail to understand is, insulting and alienating half your existing userbase to welcome someone 'new', is not the way to do it.
like the budlight thing, ive talked to many about it, and contrary to the damage control bullshit they tried to spin, nobody really gave a fuck that the kid was a tranny, it's like, ok, not for me, but, no big deal, celebrate who you want, I really don't care. But then they had to turn around and say, well if you don't agree with our ignorance, then you are racist, homophobe, add favorite xeno, ist, phobe, cist insult accusatory word of choice, then the bimbo saying well we are trying to move away from the frat brat and redneck image..
ok now so you just insulted most your customer base. why move away? why not say, you are looking to also include.. the new blood, instead of getting rid of what is your current life blood. your current customers said you don't want my money, fine, see ya!!... you seen how that played out for them, and now harley is trying to say hold my beer.
harley is falling into the same woke trap, and like all the other companies, will go broke from it.
when he is talking about the price of the harley, don't forget all the other long term costs as well. well if you want this, itll cost you another 10 k for a mode 3 upgrade, but they won't tell you, that if you don't upgrade your lower end too... not part of that deal, then you'll ruin this and that.. and then the. well at 30 k, you are going to need an upper end rebuild, at 50k this will need to be overhauled, so on and so forth and they go on like that's just perfectly normal and ok.... why would i want to spend 40k on a bike and all the extra garbage to throw on it, only to have to take an inventory after each ride to see what fell off!! and plan on spending another 20k over the say next 5 years, on planned overhauls... when i can go out and get a sweet ass.. Triumph, as an example of something with similar looks.. for the same money about, and keep good oil and maintenance on it and it'll last 100k or more?? that makes no sense.
harley is expensive to begin with, there is no more brand loyalty to their customers anymore, and they are nickle and diming who they do have left, to death on every little thing. it's going to be a death by 1000 cuts to them.
harley used to represent, what ill call the working class... that is NOT going to get them a bailout from the govt like some other scumbag car company is always getting, so unless they figure something out soon, i give them 3 years and it's lights out. thats being generous.
