Not news but speculation about Zero UK ...
« on: March 17, 2025, 05:10:52 PM »

There are some outrageous deals on new Zeros currently here in the UK - like, £10,000 off. Half price! Insanely good.
Except.
I am suspicious.
A dealer would only be doing this to divest themselves of a complete liability. The sort of liability that one might be on the hook for if the manufacturer were ... pulling out of the UK because of insane tariff wars and EV-hostile legislation.

I wouldn't be surprised if your analysis is correct. It makes perfect sense to me from my vantage point on the other side of the stormy pond.

There are some good deals on older Zeros in the US. Typically, they are model years 2022-2023 that have been sitting around and are still being sold as new. I assume they still come with the 5y battery warranty, but there must be some limit on that. They're selling for around half the price of 2025 models.

I'm not sure we should be worried about EV policy in the US since the president's new best friend is Mr. EV, and the president just bought an EV. Whereas the previous president didn't invite Mr. EV to an EV Summit, a very politically costly mistake.

The fact is, EVs are pretty hostile in themselves, and so-called EV-hostile legislation consists of not forcing them down peoples' throats.
