Hey folks!

With the cold weather here, I blew a fuse with my heated gear wired into one of the accessory plugs. It was a 5A fuse. Here is how my Experia came configured from the factory:

30 | 10 | 10 | (VCU, Drive, ABS1)
25 | 10 | 5* | (ABS2, Dashboard, USB)
x | x | 5  | (AUX1-3)

The 5* fuse is the one I blew. Given that my heated gear can draw up to 7.2A, I'm not surprised. The missing fuses (x) don't bug me either, but it may explain why some of the random 12V cables I found (GPS 12V, Telecam 12V) don't seem to have a current.

Looking at the Experia manual however, it shows the fuse box key as:

30 | 10 | 10 | (VCU, Drive, ABS1)
25 | 10 | 15 |  (ABS2, Dashboard, USB)
5 | 10 | 15 | (AUX1-3)

I'm curious what other folks have on their Experia, and whether I'd be risking serious damage if I change my bike to match the manual. I'm guessing the 15A/5A swap was just an honest silly mistake.

In the name of science, I've upgraded fuse 9 from 5A to 15A, and moved the heated vest to there. I moved my running lights to fuse 6, as it consistently draws <5A.

I do wish I knew what cables are supposed to be on fuse 7/8, as I'm adding the INNOVV ThirdEYE radar system which draws up to 3.5A.

This is my Experia fuse box if it helps. Mine is a very early VIN though...#29. Mine is as per the manual.

Looks like yours may have been "played with".

Well, I'll be damned. My bike is VIN #306 - toward the production run's end. I wonder if they changed the configuration later but didn't update the manual or if my bike just came out weird. I'll plan to update my accessory fuses later this week to match the manual and see if I can avoid busting more fuses. Thanks for sharing the photo!

I wouldn’t be surprised at this stage they’ve just been shoving whatever fuses they have on hand…alternatively, the fuses are installed on an as needed basis by the distributor.

My Experia, (VIN …216) didn’t have any fuses in spaces 7, 8, and 9 when I took delivery at the dealership. As you know, the manual states that position 7 should have a 5 A fuse, position 8 should have a 10 A fuse, and position 9 should have a 15 A fuse. The three circuits are only identified as AUX 1, AUX 2, and AUX 3 respectively. Unfortunately the description doesn’t tell which circuit goes to the wire connectors for GPS, Video, etc. on the right side, under the plastic shroud. Without a wiring diagram it is difficult to determine which of the AWG connectors are grouped as AUX 1, 2, or 3. I guess you could power on the bike and use a continuity tester inserted into the female positive portion of each connector terminal after removing the fuses in spaces 7-9 and inserting the fuses one at a time to see which fuse position energizes each connector; or make a WAG based on the wire thickness. It is kind a PITA not having a wiring diagram.
