My new Experia arrived today, put plates on it, insured it and took it for a spin.
Wow.  Major change from what I am used to, holy wow wow, a big change.  Not that it's a bad thing.

I like the balance, it is a bit lower to the ground, which is good for me and the balance feels better, more weebly woobly like it's going to want to right itself more rather than tip over if you learn too far too slow like the EGO would.  The handlebars are back towards me further and that was strange.  Turning feels easier, ESPECIALLY over the EGO, but that's really not fair to the EGO, it's a hyper performance race bike, not a sunday ride on the backroads bike so is built for speed, not necessarily comfort.

it has nice pickup, given what it is, it really picks up speed pretty darned fast for only 80 hp on the motor.  Ill have to time it, well actually I can download my airbag and get the real number but it feels like its doing 0 to 110 in ehh 10 to 12 seconds. but, it is NOT !!!! my EGO, or even my Ribelle.  It's a nice easy tug to speed, not a hold on tight or you'll fall off the ass end like the EGO will do ya

It seems a bit more responsive into the turns than my ribelle, but again, it's been months since i rode the ribelle so I really do need to do a comparison again for a real 'current' feel for it, but I do love both of them.

The Experia is going to be perfect for when I am making deliveries around town, it's got a shit ton of storage on it with the 3 huge bags and also has tbe bitch in the back seat for if I do take a passenger with me somewhere.  This is going to be a nice shopping bike too so I don't have to deal with the Silverado in traffic and while the Ribelle's bags are nice, they are nothing compared to these for storage.  The bags on the Experia are much stronger too, these things are rock solid, where the ribelle, if you hit a dip just right on the road with a 12 pack in the bag, it can pop off it's rail.  The Experia i suspect it'd take a train hitting it to knock the bags off.

This truly is a sweet bike, now that I seen it in person it's just a beautiful bike.  The guys who delivered it to the house fell in love with it as well when they glided it up the driveway and into the garage.

Folks, if you wanted one of these, this is the time, with the discount Energica is giving on them, it's truly a steal of a deal on an awesome bike.  Even if they do go .. I can repurpose that battery pack and motor / inverter, and still will not lose money on the deal, although Id NEVER ever want to do that unless I totalled the bike or something.

They still have a few left in the warehouse I believe but they are selling out so seriously, if you want one, now's the time, right before the holidays, great gift.  Tell Stefano that Aaron sent you if you do get one.

Now I have a real big problem...

sunday mornings, I don't / won't know which bike Iwant to ride.  Maybe I can hook up some sort of tow hitch and ride one, tow the other, when the battery dies, swap bikes

I had the same reaction. A forum denizen was nice enough to let me take his for a spin in a parking lot, and I couldn't feel any reduction in power from my old SS9. It was more than enough to make me giggle on an onramp.

I had the opportunity to go for a ride with the Experia last year when my Ribelle was serviced and totally agree what you wrote.
What I liked most was the stowaway compartment and the 'external' charge socket (no lifting the seat anymore).
A definite minus was the quality of some of the plastic fairings which appeared quite low.

So I rode around town a bit today doing some errands.  I really like the way it handles, thebalance is a bit better than the Ribelle, it's more of a comfy bike, well of course it's a touring bike, not a nekkid racer !!

Getting into traffic was a breeze, jumping onto the on ramp and scooting over and weaving between the retarts who can't drive for shit, and next thing I know im flowing with left lane traffic at 87 mph and barely even knew I was already at that speed.  You really don't notice. it just glides up so nicely.

Leaning into a turn feels a bit different than I am used to, so working on that feel, not sure how much of a lean this bike can take compared to my EGO or Ribelle for that matter since Both of them have hit the track already.  I am half tempted to take this one on a track day just to put it thru it's runs and motions to see what it's abilities are BUT getting those bags off looks like it might be a real bitch.

So this morning it took me about 20 minutes to figure out where the charging port was at, and when I finally did stumble upon it felt kind of stupid.  THen the DMV they have to come out and verify the vin.   Where is it..  I don't fkn know !!  the other two it's right here on the fork, this one it's buried up under the dash on the yoke, took a few trips to google and a flash light to find that, wow is it buried.

The only thing I don't like are the foot pegs are right where I need to rest my legs, and slowing to a stop in traffic are right where I need to walk the bike to a stop, so are kind of in the way.  Getting on and off it with the huge back bag is a bit of a challenge for me as well,especially being im a short bastard and have back fusions so am not as limber as I wish / used to be. So no swinging the leg over the back, yo gotta kind of poke it thru over the seat.  First thing in the morning im all stiff and numb, yah ill need to work something out.

The kick stand, stands the bike almost straight up and down and is like right under the foot rest, it's kind of in the way of kicking it down.  Im going to h ave to figure a way to adjust that.  Other than minor boo hoo little bitch whiney issues, there is nothing really bad I have to say about it so far.  I like the pick up and it really is comfy in traffic and you can weave and duck as you  need.  Again once I get more used to it and KNOW what my max lean angles are on it ill be way more comfortable putting around town.  it comes with stock tires too.  you know... tires for NORMAL people, which are probably not the best for 40 degree lean angles but I like to know it's there if I ever need it to get out of the way of someone doing something stupid, .. this IS Jacksonville now... sadly we kill a biker or two pretty much every week.

I love the storage compartment up front, I can keep my phone and all my stuff in there.  No more having the brand fucking new Note 24 popping out of the X holder at 90 MPH and exploding as it cartwheels down the highway. Good ting I got the insurance on that one !!  The back storage is big enough I can get my helmet in, and gloves, and I am betting the side, i can fold up my riding leathers into that if need be, or keep a riding jacket / rain jacket if it gets nasty out.

I also love the charging on the OUTside no more having to have the seat flipped up,  if it starts raining and you are inside and all that is exposed... ugh.  with the Experia that's not really going to be an issue that I see.

Bikes are really great deal now, right for christmas,  get yourself and the wife one, you won't look back !!

Fly, my bike was fully loaded with the extras and goodies so lets say 17k plus shipping.  This is in the USA though, i can't speak for other countries.  If you mention that I sent you when you talk to them about ordering it and picking what you want .vs.what they currently have etc he could possibly knock some off for you.

I was just about to say that. I had to learn to do it on my Ducati Multistrada when all the bags were on, and it makes things a whole lot easier. Just make sure it's a bike with a proper side stand (which I'm sure the Experia has). I did it on my Zero SR and the stand made a groaning noise that said "don't ever try that again." Good thing I wore my brown undies that day!

What VIN did you get..??

They're actually ~100hp or ~75kw...speed limited to 180kmh....which is plenty for normal day to day riding, won't be much fun on the track I suspect....the Prielli Scorpion II tyres aren't great either.

And I agree with all you've said...considering the size and weight of them, they really do get up and go quite well....and are quite light on their feet.

This is what I had to do on the Experia as well, works perfectly well once you accept how much the thing shifts on the kickstand (it solid and stable, just a lot of suspension movement)

Thank you for that suggestion, standing on the peg i can lift and heft right over, even from the high side it works.  The bike moves a little bit and first try I was like oh jeesus I didn't have the thing a day and im already gonna knock it over !! but she held very steady !!

The kick stand is a bit weird, it stands the bike up a little bit too straight IMO, but that's easily adjustable.  On the contrary my racing bike the EGO that bitch is leaned way the hell over on it's stand and im like man this thing just want's to go over, but it never does 

Ill have to check again but my vin is 287 or something like that.

speaking of, holy shit, I had to find the vin for the DMV we looked for about 20 minutes on that thing, the Ribelle it's right on the shock, this one is buried way up under the hood and you need a light and a pig sticker to move some wires out of the way to see it !!  That might be a good thing when swapping plates tween bikes 

At lower speeds and in parking lots etc, the balance on the bike is so much better and handles really easy, even with the foot pegs being right where I want to put my feet at.  I need to remember to be careful when I get back on my ribelle not to relax too much when jockeying it around or ill drop it...again 

The pirelli tires, yah im not impressed either,but it's the italian thing, gotta take care of 'family'....I get it but will be putting continentals on it the moment these are worn down, which given the history of my past pirelli's won't be too long. 

Right now I really have not taken it for a real hard core 'test ride',  Ill take it to the track for that but from my initial feelings.  It bobs in and out very nicely in traffic, back and forth is really good but yet on the same hand, im really afraid to lean it way over like I'd do with the EGO or Ribelle, as I don't feel the confidence it'll handle that well.  I am believing that though is just the tires, they are a bit slick, .  that is ANOTHER thing about electric bikes. you can hear, which also enhances your feel, the traction of the tires!  On the track, I use this often to let me know when I am pushing my limits, and especially with the continentals, and their warning rumble, you get the skitch skitch you know you are very close to your limits.

I have a feeling once I get a bit more familiar with the bike I'll be able to sling it all over.  It feels like a lighter bike, I mean it's like I can really sling it here and there like I'd do on a 300 lb ninja, not a 600 lb electric bike.  Even with it being the same weight as the EGO and Ribelle it just feels so much lighter.  probably because the motor is lower and the center of balance is a bit lower.   Man I'd LOVE to have this bike with the Corsa's power train on it,  lose the bags   hehe.

I received my Experia today [VIN #306], and agree with everything @Specter said. Holy shit, this is a nice bike! Especially when you factor in the price I paid for it ($16k).



I rented a Ribelle over the summer and did not like it. Coming off a BMW CE 04 & R1150GS, the Ribelle felt like an unpredictable cheap hack. The Experia is my first non-BMW purchase in 20 years of riding. This bike is amaze-balls, with only minor quibbles to note so far:

- Regen in max mode feels non-linear. Like the Ribelle, but not like my CE 04. I've heard rumors that proper chain tension helps make it feel more predictable.
- I wish the compartment had enough space for a water bottle
- My top-case won't release from the plate; but it probably just need a rubber mallet to get it off the first time.

My initial range estimate is 165 - 175 miles for the sort of riding I do here in North Carolina, depending on how much highway is involved.

Anyways, the Experia is the best I've ever ridden. It reminds me of riding a Triumph Tiger 1050 than I had expected.
