New suspension option for Energica
« on: April 25, 2024, 07:28:25 PM »

Less expensive than the full Ohlins option.  Seems like an excellent value over stock.

I have the Energica Ohlins rear shock for sale.  About 500 miles on it.  If anyone is interested I can send you pictures and take your calls to discuss.

Upgraded to a different unit.

SOLD

It runs $781 new.

If it'll fit on a 2022 Ribelle I'll buy it!

Ive talked to him about this suspension a few months ago.
VERY interested in putting this on the Ribelle and seeing how it runs on the track here.
If my EGO was not tricked out already with the olins in the back Id like to try the lowering kit on that but for the price I paid for those shocks, they gonna have to stay for a bit :D

PArd, what rear shock did you go with in the end if you ditched the Ohlin?

Custom unit.  Wanted something with a hydraulic preload adjuster, separate compression and rebound adjustment hi/lo for each.

my left side fork is broken, I probably can;t repair it - I was looking just tu buy upper tube but seems impossible :(

I try to find ohlins for good price but its hard to find which exact specs

for example 120mm instead 110mm travel time - do you think it will work?

what part of the world do you live in.
it might be doable but you'd need to play with springs, loading, all kinds of stuff that would absolutely mess with the bikes geometry.
it wouldn't be a quix fix.
try calling energica they may be able to provide you parts you need or at least a lead on part numbers.
my guy who works on my bike in daytona, has some contacts with ohlins, andriani, etc.
although my forks are vastly different, he may remember or have some specs written down somewhere from my oem setup.

if interested and energica can't help you, dm me and i can ask Eric if he can dig something up for you.

aaron

if all fails, the guy in new england may have something to help you.

Poland, EU

surprisingly it works, not leaking, maybe a little sweating maybe even I can repair it, for now I am not messing with it bcoz as i said its working, so it will be OK for quick (slow) test ride after I fix wheel and brakes

I am not in rush so I try to find this upper part somewhere but if I can't I just buy whole new (used) fork - with the same travel distance, I only just start looking but I saw ohlins for some ducati models for about 1000-1500 euro (new cost about 300euro)

from google AI

Some aftermarket fork manufacturers might offer components with shorter travel, but this is not the norm.
In summary, 110mm travel is not a typical or stock setting for a Ducati fork. If you encounter it, it would likely be a custom or aftermarket modification.

So only option is get original part or change whole front suspension

:/

The standard forks are Bitubo if you didn't have the Ohlins package, you might be able to get specs on them from one of the distributors.

I tear down front suspension and now I know how its build/works

metal (steel) insert in upper part is squished, upper part is like on previous photo but it not cause leaking -  also down part is dented to middle

its repairable I think but i found used one (right side only) for 200euro so its no worth doing it now
