GEN2 MBB consol level3 password?
« on: February 12, 2024, 11:44:43 PM »

I want to use the set command of ov_kickstand

My 2018 DSR sidestand has packed up and I want to update the MBB to avoid the check rather than messing with 2.2k resistor.
It's so frustrating that these things are not readily availble for a bike no longer sold.

I have the level 2 passport ‘tpsreport’ as it allowed me to update my sprokes after my chain conversion and larger diameter tyres.

I don't know what makes people think they have to put a resistor across the leads of a sensor feeding a high impedance input on a controller. All you need to do is jump the signal return to either source voltage or ground depending on if the sensor is PNP or NPN. If you can't find the datasheet for the sensor (and since your current sensor is dead so you can't simply probe the wires to determine the signal levels), you might use a resister to use a trial and error approach to identify the wires to cross, in which case the resistor would only be to protect the system in the case of jumping the power directly to ground. Once you know which wires need to be jumped, you just twist them together. Done.

If I get the time, I could probe the connection on mine and get back to you.

Hi 2018DSR, I have the same problem with my 2016 DSR, did you ever find the password? I am ordering a new part but I would like to use my bike in the mean time. Thanks.

How will you park your bike without a sidestand?
A small magnet glued to the sensor should act like the sidestand is up.

Rgutt. The sensor is a three wire sensor and cannot be jumpered with a jumper. It sends out about 2.7 volts on the signal wire with the stand up.

The aim is to disable the use of the sensor so the bike does no longer check if the side stand is up or down. The side stand is still there. I am only trying to do this because my sensor broke and the bike no longer starts. I have found this post on a German forum detailing how to "fake" the sensor signaling when the side stand is up. It is the 4th post: https://www.elektroroller-forum.de/viewtopic.php?t=33536  .
