Hi all,
I got a dead Zero FX 2013. The bike looks in pristine condition but nothing is actually working. The batteries were both dead. I was able to get a used battery for 2013 but teh bike still does not turn on. I checked fuses and breakers and they look good. I also checked the connectors and they seam to be good. I am doing some research and I see people saying that could be the MBB. I have trouble find a working part, zero is pretty much unreachable. When I also plug it there is no charging light.   Anyone can advise about what may be to get the bike on.

Does any of the 12volt electrics works? Lights, horn?
On your replacement 2013 battery, have you checked the voltage? Did it come as a working battery or condition unknown. The 2013 batteries can be charged directly from the chargers if needed. Can you check the voltage output of the onboard chargers?

I have found a mob from a S  and DS model. Anybody knows if the mbb is the same for the FX model. I do not want to try it fry something else

It would seem that they are identical, however from reading this they have to be programmed to the specific bike. I'm not sure what would happen if it's not, like if it's from a S/DS with the same size battery then the only difference in electrical components should be the charger and the MBB shouldn't care about that.

Do you have dc voltage to the MBB? 90-116 volts to it so it can turn on?

Do not run pack voltage into the MBB

Look up the wiring diagram. Battery pin 1 is full pack voltage, goes to MBB connector 1, pin 18.
The MBB has its own step down converter to make its power.
The 2013 also has a bat - low power fuse, glass tube style, that can be a problem

i had a similar issue where i needed to test the circuit as my lights weren't working. with the battery disconnected, i used a power probe to give 12v to the fuse box for the lights so i could see if it was a circuit fault or battery fault. this might be an idea. use the schematics to try and test different parts of the circuit.
mine ended up being a wiring issue as i changed the mbb and 12v dc convertor first, no luck. changed the main loom and it worked. i still need to check the main loom to see if i can see where its gone faulty

I can’t be of much help—but I am thinking of purchasing a bike much like yours (2013 FX that won’t power on) and wanted ask what you payed for yours? Trying to figure out what I should be ok with paying—it’s listed for $3k with a new 5.7 battery.

Did you ever solve your problem, by the way?
