Now that is the sort of thing that we've been waiting for - using the battery casing as the frame to save a ton of weight.

That has to be the one Derek Dorresteyn talked about HD and Alta were working on together before things went sour.

It is direct drive.  No reduction gearing.

Is the ankle supposed to fit in the center of the box thing to keep you from rubbing the swingarm?  Rear brake master cylinder to touch the toe?

Keep in mind that the picture of the S2 is just a guess and not the actual bike. That will be relieved during H-D's second quarter within a couple of months.
