Looks like they've got plenty of room, they could offer a much higher capacity if they gave up the storage space. Although then you've got even more weight on an already heavy bike.

It's interesting that they drop the capacity with the 11kW version, and also reduce the peak power output. Shame they don't just do it like Zero.

One of the least functional scooters I've ever seen, and that's before getting to the price...
Heavy as a touring bike, low range, very little storage, no rear carrier, no floor for either feet or shopping bags, no wind protection...
Also ugly.

But it does have a reverse, as well as a button to call for emergency help when you come to a stop out in the town's boondocks.

Aesthetically I like it, not beautiful but less lame than the majority of other scooters. It's unique and futuristic. I think it being a scooter is perhaps more of a design choice than a practical one, almost like they weren't really aiming for it to be a scooter but that's just how it turned out. It's not far off the CE-02 but with the added benefit of a fairing for a bit of wind protection and some under seat storage.

BMW, as do all of the other major manufacturers, continue to lay low when it comes to marketing a full-size highway-capable electric motorcycle. They continue to take the easy way out with a relatively low power and short range city scooter platform. I am sure that it is much easier to design and package an electric scooter, but some day they will have to market an electric motorcycle and the longer they wait the tougher it will be, I would imagine.

It's in another league in comparison with most other electric scooters with a peak of 31kW, an 8.5kW/h battery, and 2.3/6.9kW charging. Those are similar or greater specs than a base model Zero. Of course the price is also in another league.
