Hey all!
I picked up my 2021 Zero SR on Dec 28, 2021. Took a couple of weeks while I waited for Saddlebags, Top Case and, Windscreen to arrive and get installed. This is a replacement for my 2001 Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic, which had a failure of the Final Drive (it's Shaft Drive). I could get the new assembly for $900 or take a chance on used assembly for about half of that. But, I'd been looking for a reason to go electric for over a year. I almost exclusively rode the 650 as my Commuter and my Grocery Getter. I also have a 2014 Yamaha Stratoliner S for "Fun" rides and long trips. (I've done Dayton to Naples FL and twice now done Dayton to Oklahoma City. I'm not real happy with the seating of the SR vs my Cruisers. I'm used to having my feet below my knees (or more forward that that) and, not leaning on the handlebars. Turning 63 this year, I don't fold up like I used to. But, I can put up with it for a 10 mile (each way) commute and grocery shopping.
I'd really like to see if anyone has ever done a footpeg move forward. Once the weather warms up, I'll start looking into trying it myself. I'm also going to try to install the
Safer Turn and
Safer Stop modules. I've had the Safer Stop on both Yamahas and I like having them. If you've never heard of it:
https://st2-systems.com. I'm not affiliated with them, nor do get anything out of it if you buy one. (Although I think there's a program for that.)
See you all out there on the road!
