BMW Concept CE C2 electric motorbike
« on: September 02, 2021, 04:48:45 AM »

This concept electric motorbike from BMW is apparently aimed at Gen Z. And you will really believe that once you watch the included video: https://www.motorcycle.com/new-model-preview/the-bmw-motorrad-concept-ce-02-is-an-urban-electric-bike-for-gen-z.html

This has got to be some of the most next-level memefodder.

Who thought this was a good ad?

Here is the press release for the CE 02. It looks like it will be plant-based (scroll down to near the bottom of the page for pictures of the rider and his BMW accessory backpack).

Looks a bit like an e-BMX. I reckon it would sell if it was cheap. But it's a BMW, so it won't be.

Reminds me of the abject failure sales-wise of the F650CS Scarver back in the early 2000s.
Not a bad bike in functional terms -- the entire F650 singles series were good bikes -- but aimed at buyers less than half the age that BMW knows how to address, weird design that was self-consciously trying to be cool and ended up the complete opposite, and cost 40% more than the competition.

This thing has a completely non-functional design for a scooter, without any wind protection, integrated luggage space or even just a standard rear carrier.

However, the board seat is perfect for carrying home a potted plant, as demonstrated by the model in BMW's press release. Also, did you notice that the bike has no mudguards? So stay off of damp streets.
