I wouldn't find much of a use for this bike since I don't live in an urban area but it's a step in the right direction!

It certainly does seem to be a lot easier to design and manufacture an urban-capable electric scooter or small motorcycle than one that is useful for longer trips at high speeds.  However the E-Pilen might be pretty stylish to have as a living room display.

It looks great, and it's the perfect replacement for the 125s. Bit short on range though I expect it is extremely light.

If that is 8kw genuine, so it will do over 100kph then this would be exactly what I am looking for.
An emotorcycle, light, from a manufacturer that makes superb handling motorcycles, that has some experience already in production emotorcycles and has dealers in Australia. I only need 60-100km range and 100kph top speed. A real 125 equivalent.
Note to manufacturters: A 125 ICE equivalent will do OVER 100kph, not 80 or 90kph.

The problems with ICE dealers not handling e-vehicles is well-documented.  In fact, is there a dealer network that has done this and not scored poorly?

A dealer network is no guarantee that the shift to ev will be handled.  At all.

The biggest issue with this is going to be price. The Svartpilen 125 already costs the same as the current electric bikes marketed as 125 equivalents (Supersoco TC Max, Horwin CR6, the road legal Surron) so this E-pilen is going to end up being priced much closer to something like an FXS which is technically able to be ridden on the same licence as a 125 despite performing much better.

I have only dealt with one dealer as far as Zero/Energica sales go but they certainly have no issues selling someone a Zero or Energica motorcycle if that is what the customer is interested in. So would certainly rate them pretty high. Biggest issue with Energica is no floor models because they sell whatever they can get.

Heh, my local Energica dealer totally failed to sell one to me
...but then, it did break down in the worst way.

Looks like another compliance bike to be able to still sell their gas bikes where an electric option is mandated.

They could have made a nice dirt bike with Alta gone but instead go for an urban toy that will get stolen the first time you park it. SMH

Pre-covid for a couple years my FXS never got stolen while parked in the Chicago loop.

I'm sure there are certain locations that are more or less dangerous to park. But there isn't that too much of a difference in 300 or 400 lbs if you are grabbing motorcycles and throwing them in a truck / van to steal it. Plus I'd think a 600cc sport bike might be better for the black market. :shrug:
