I was commenting on the motorcycle shown in the first picture of the article and it looked to me like the battery box was mounted across the frame and stuck out about  6" on both sides of the bike. However, that is not the case with the other bikes shown further down the page. Those looked a lot more developed and more like which you would expect a typical motorcycle to look like. That first picture looked like an early model that probably was powered by a removable lead-acid car battery.

So is not having to have gasoline trucked in. Buy some solar panels and charge it yourself. I believe small-scale solar is also a trend in Africa.
