Motorcycle Insurance

Hey all,
I just got my first electric motorcycle, a 2019 Zero S 14.4.  Can anyone recommend a good, LOW COST insurance company?  I checked with AAA already.
Thanks!

If you live in the U.S. you might try Progressive. I have been insuring with them for years. But I will admit that my electric motorcycle premiums keep going up every year. I carry $250K/$500K liability-only coverage. In 2009 I paid just $5 a year for my first electric motorcycle, now I am paying $120 a year for my 2018 Zero S. That is about $30 more than I pay for my BMW R1200RS.  :(

Richard,
I live in Orange County, CA.  I checked with Progressive & they weren't the lowest quote.  The lowest quotes so far have been with Safeco Insurance, that 3 different insurance brokers used.  You may want to try Safeco, AAA, & GEICO website (the GEICO office I called gave me a quote more than twice as much as their website did, & there's a phone number to speak with someone at the end of the quote page on their website).

Just like you, my present (car) insurance company has increased my insurance the last couple of years, so I'm shopping around -- now that I've gotten other quotes for my car I see that they were almost twice as high as others.

FYI - My Zero S VIN comes up as an MX dirt bike for some of the brokers (except on the GEICO website, where it comes up as 'S SR').  And AAA management input 999cc in their 'Engine Size' quote question, even though they know I have an electric motorcycle.

In case it can help anyone, I'll post the finalized quotes when they settle the classification of my Zero S in their underwriters' systems.

EV Moto, I will grant you that Progressive might not be the cheapest insurer for an electric motorcycle now as I have not called around the way that you have. But they sure were the most inexpensive for the first few years when I started riding my Electric Motorsport GPR-S and Zero S motorcycles. But they also insure five other motorcycles that I own and their premiums are pretty darn cheap, such as my Royal Enfield, KTM and BMW F650GS being around $35-$45 a year.  So I am willing to take the bad with the good.  ;)

I had a somewhat similar experience with Progressive. Definitely taking the good with the bad with them. Adding a DRZ400 to my policy was -6 dollars!

I think my FXS was maybe ~$100 / year.
