Safety of different types of battery tech

Time is not really a good denominator here, it should be amperage vs amp hours.

The battery packs were wildly different energy density as well.

I think the performance was to educate both firemen and anyone who was thinking about buying a lithium battery-powered product regarding their different safety hazards when placed under different kinds of stress. Clearly Li-Po is not what you want powering your toys.

But it is what we're powering our toys with.  They're the highest power density, highest power to weight, of the batteries shown.

True and the most dangerous form of power. The video seems to be trying to show that those toys are not all that safe if you don't take care with the way you are using them.  And disposing of spent Li-Po battery powered devices needs to be done very carefully.

I guess that makes it pretty clear why Brandon and Morgan were stressing how DANGEROUS the Lightning Strike's battery construction could be.  Wow.

Yes. You need battery cases. The Energica's case is freaking massive and thick. The Zero packs are potted. I feel quite safe with both of those solutions.

The reaction of the Li-Po battery varies wildly by what and how the electrolyte polymer is made.  And keeping the cells together makes them more likely to set each other off.  If they have expansion space, they're less likely to sell-ignite.
