That is awesome, thanks!

What should we check to know the battery status?

Hi!

I have logs for the DSR/X, do they work for you? If so, please let me know how to share.

Zero Motorcycles Forum | 2013+ / Re: Zero DSRX Belt Tension and Alignment
« on: February 01, 2026, 04:50:24 PM »
Thanks for all the comments.

I had a 2020 DSR where I spent lot of hours adjusting the belt. I had some left footpeg vibrations that were solved aligning and increasing the tension to the mid zone of the range.
Last year I sold the DSR and bought the 2024 DSRX, much easier to adjust.

Following your comments I have lowered the tension to 60kg from the 70kg I did a couple of days ago (consistently measured with the krikit device), and it goes smooth, no noise and no vibrations. It was also smooth with 70kg but I have read everywhere that lower tension is better. I adjusted it after 1 year for the first time because I noticed it a little low.

In my experience, in winter the tension goes down and in summer it goes up, so I will re-check after 3-4 months.

Cheers!

90 degrees? that sounds too much, I was not able to twist it when it was at 50kg and I can't do it now at 70kg xDDD

Thanks!

Hi! I was checking my belt tension today and it was at 50kg (measured with the gates krikit ii device). I decided to adjust to reach the recommended ~70kg (750N in the manual).
I also noticed the belt had a very little gap from the sprocket so I decided to give it just a little more.

The tension is now better (~75hz with app and 70kg with the krikit), but I wanted to share a picture of the left gap of the belt to know your opinions.

Does it look ok to you? Too much gap?

Thanks mates!

Thanks for your comments.

Mine is only updated if I switch on the bike. If I store it in the garage for a week, it is never updated and if I switch it on and then off inmediately, then it shows 0% SoC forever.

I finally found (I think) the problem.

If you switch the bike on, move a little y switch it off, it updates position but the battery status is not correctly updated. It looks like I interrupted the upload somehow.

What I don't get is why dont we get periodic updates of the battery SoC? It is only updated while charging or when the bike is on... I have to go down to the garage after a couple of days to know the current SoC. That kills the purpose of the remote app because I can remember where I stored the bike XD I don't know the app to remind me that I parked in the garage yesterday :D

Hi!

Today when checking my zero dsrx battery SOC using the app and the remote option, it showed 0% battery. I was in shock and run to the garage, but the bike was properly charged at 65%. After switching on and off the bike, the app showed the status was updated in the last hour, (so some info is being sent) but it keeps showing 0% SOC and status connected (it is not).

Do you know what is wrong? Any method to reset? Thanks.

I am waiting for Zero to release some "how to fix" document, as they did with the brake hose line. Then once I know the exact spot I will try to fix it by myself :D

11
Thanks for the doc. I would like to know if I can protect the harness to avoid damage in the future. As usual, my dealer is 300km away from me :(

The firmware was available and I did the update, but the doc says that the cable may eventually break if the bike is affected. It will be probably, as they fixed the routing in July 25.

Link updated, thanks!

Hi!

Another recall for Zero DS/R/X

https://zeromotorcycles.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=092c52059ddeb356b88e61baf&id=1d9546151f&e=1a809af787

It says that the harness may be incorrect and that they have provided a firmware update that limits the speed if a disconnect is detected.

But... why not fix the harness???

Thanks so much for your comments, that makes sense!

Hi!

Today I forgot to switch off the zero dsrx while charging. It was limited to 75% but 3 hours later I went to the garage and noticed the fan was on. I switched the bike off and everything was ok (75% SoC) but I am worried because it is very hot these days.

Any problem or just some heat on the components?

Thanks!
