The 3.6 has a slightly longer case, it does fit in older bikes but only from 2014 onwards. However the same is also said for the 3.3 but also those were maybe an upgrade for 2013 bikes. Considering the 3.3 was in bikes up to 2017 but is presumably the same size as the 2.8 I don't really know why bikes back to 2014 would have the extra space for the 3.6, but not 2013 bikes. Not sure why the 2.8 only works in bikes up until 2015 either, what changed from 2016 to make them no longer compatible.

In my research it appears that the 2.8 was only around for one or two model years.  I think I read that later ones even if they physically fit aren't compatible electronically.  Don't know.  I'll search a little more.  If I rebuild it I plan to remove everything but the controller, dc converter and motor and build the rest.  I can get the software and cords to program the Sevcon controller which is most of the battle for me.

For the modular use one or two batteries the advice is if you want to use two at the same time buy two at the same time. Or buy the bike with two. Pretty sure it was a Zero person on this forum that told me this or responded to me on here about it.

My KTM batteries don't have any date on them so I kind of feel like you when it comes time to buy another one.  Right now Battery 3750 whole new left-over bike 6000. That is for the ktm power pack.

I understand why to get two batteries together and I will if I can.  If I can only get one than it will have to do.  I'm trying to avoid having to pay the full price from Zero and if I can't acquire batteries, I'll have to rebuild the bike with different batteries and components.

I've had this bike for 7 years and ran perfectly until 2 weeks ago. It's in excellent condition minus the fact that it needs new batteries.  The bike will not start or charge.  I'm not going to try and revive it.  Time to move on to other projects.

Hello New EV motorcycle company.  I hope that you're able to get this going as Zero seems to be the only game in town.  Great company and bikes from what I know.  I've had some experience working on bikes, all as a hobby and helping friends.  I built a chopper from the frame up a number of years ago and also a couple of cafe racers.  My first and so far only electric motorcycle is a 2013 Brammo Empulse R.  Excellent build quality and performance all around.  I started prepping a frame for an electric motorcycle build but abandoned it after spending
what I considered to be too much time just getting it to a rolling chassis.

All personal opinion here.  I think you'll have to have more than one bike, similar to Zero to cater to a number of different riding types.  Probably 3 at minimum.  Naked upright style, sportbike, and cruiser/touring.
Of course the sportbike should have a really good amount of power and the touring would need a lot of range.  For me to buy, I'd have to have a range of no less than 200 miles.  It would
fit my commute, riding with my friends and also my short trips.  My Brammo is an excellent motorcycle all around with great power minus one thing, it's range is way too short.  If you can only do one bike, I'd do the naked upright style and give it a good bit of power with the 200 mile real world range.  Get the price to $15K and you'll definitely compete with Zero.
