So zero is having their discontinued product sale. Most things for the older models are half off. Tempting time to consider a power tank, seeing as how I already have the diginow charge tank. However, the almighty Bones Jackson has posted a very informative word of caution on upgrading to power tanks after the main monolith has aged a bit. My bike only has a few thousand miles, and is coming on 5 years old now. I was hoping maybe Zero fixed the software to help offset the issues BJackson pointed out. Is a power tank worth considering right now?

There's a very strong chance the soldering points melted and disconnected

If there's one thing the internet taught me, melted soldering points can be fixed by MORE HEAT! Just throw them boxes in an oven to re-melt them like old nvidia cards.

Do you happen to know if these guys are making any small batches of these boxes on comission?

I'm just now re-reading over these as I start the next phase of my project. What are these "catastrophic" problems he speaks of?

Okay, now that I've got the chargers installed I can finally see why people are concerned with battery degradation. It's making me rethink the charger location so I'm looking to steal NewZeroland's idea of shoving two of them in the tank area.

But I have a side question I'm hoping someone can help me with: I need fans for ventilation. Where can I tap into a 12v source of power for fans? Is the SAE port the only one, and if so, isn't that only enabled when the bike is on?

I'm looking into options to adjust the look and riding style of the OG S model. One of the options I'm looking at is putting some clip ons to give it a look more like the SV650X

Are there any known upper fork trees that are compatible with the S model? I know this bike shares common parts with other bike brands, I was just wondering what options I have for replacing the top tree.

This post is just for whoever wants to do an upgrade in the future, either with a Diginow pan or something else third party. I finally got around to installing the 9.9kw charge pan that I had obtained about two years ago (don't judge me! I had injuries, then house projects, and other life stuff!)















The charge port bracket I made is available on Thingiverse. I 3d printed this one in NylonX (carbon nylon blend) but I think PETG would do just fine. The blender 3d file is also included in case any modifications need to be made.

And yes, the original tank still fits, so I get to keep the cargo space or possibly upgrde to a power tank.

Your riding style and speed will greatly affect range. As will environment, like hills, temperature and wind.
Running it to 0 is not optimal, but as long as you put it directly on charge it will be okay. There are safety margins built in. But don't store it overnight near empty.
I've seen recommendation to go 0-100% few times a year to help the BMS stay calibrated.

Okay, I guess the consensus is to get a watt mater to measure how much is being put into the battery. I just figured the BMS would track all this and show in the logs somewhere.

I made another post, but it seems the forums glitched and it didn't post.

I was wondering if anyone here could help me figure out what to look for to determine the health of my battery. I went fora ride (first one in a while) and after a 5-ish mile trip, I lost 9% battery life.

The SR/S bolt right up to the old style S model bikes? I thought they only fit on the SR/F.

I guess maybe this is where welding skills come in handy, which I'm lacking. Has anyone modified or mounted different footpegs to the S model? I'm looking to maybe push them back 6 inches to give a different riding position. I was hoping there were some bolt-on options like the SR/F to SR/S.
