New Firmware update?
« on: January 29, 2018, 10:11:55 PM »

Heard a rumor over on the Facebook Zero group that a new firmware refresh was just released by Zero.  Does anyone have any information on this?  Does it resolve the wonky range/battery capacity figures displayed on the dash created by the last update?

Thanks in advance,

My bike was in the shop last week and they said also said they did a firmware upgrade.
Didn't ask what was changed in the update.

(note: before that I already had the firmware installed which changed the charging)

I'll check when I go home this evening.

I am interested in hearing from anyone who knows they had the issue of the battery behaving as if it had half the battery capacity before and after this latest update to see if it fixes it. I would like to go get my 2014 S updated as soon as possible if this version does indeed fix that, but my dealer is a 90 minute drive, so I want to make sure if fixes that issue before going. The dealer is in contact with Zero to see if the issue is fixed, but they are waiting for a return call.

[...] regarding the range display.
No change. Still a wee bit too optimistic estimate. see attached print screen.
Where before the estimate was slowly creeping towards a correct estimate, it now goes in the opposite direction.

What I did notice what that my phone says there is yet ANOTHER update available.
Like mentioned earlier, I got the update which changed the charging behaviour.
Last week my bike was in the shop for something strange (see this post) and afterwards they said something to the effect of "We noticed there was one version higher available, so we also updated the firmware"

Now when I took the print screen in front of my house where I have WiFi reception, my phone said there was a new update available ...
I also took a print screen of the update screen and attached it to this post. It's been a LONG time since I looked at that page so I have no idea what the previous values were

I have an 2017 SR and had no issues with that before or after the upgrade

Hey, this is what I have!

A couple weeks ago, I got my charger warranty-replaced (good experience at rahns.com Abington MA btw), and I got the charging firmware update. I wasn't sure which thing caused it.

Is there a thread about it?

It's kind of rediculous this is still a problem. Somewhere there is probably a simple brick-1 or multiplier error in the code. It seems like Zero has a serious lack of coding expertise if it takes months to find and fix (which remains to be done) .

My current firmware is apparently revision 1536.  I just received a message on my cell phone, when I was checking the condition of my battery pack today, that a new firmware update was available.  Since there appears to be no indication exactly what this revision corrects, my dealer is located 25 miles away, has a very busy service center, is likely is not going to want to install the new revision at no cost - and my bike is running perfectly, I have decided to ignore the update message.  ;)

Don't do it!  I believe I have the latest version of firmware for m!y 2016 DSR.  And it is once again( week later after running fine) misreporting SOC and range estimates.  Seems to be directly tied to what the firmware thinks your total pack size is.

I might add that I am quite confused about the firmware revision numbers.  My bike says I have MMB firmware revision 1536, but most other people report that they have a revision number around 52 or 53 and my 2014 S had revision 36.  Did Zero change the firmware designation numbers, or are there two different types of firmware on the bikes, such as one for the MMB and BMS?  ???

Firmware is (presumably) specific to each MBB board layout. Within the same model year you could see different layouts, though as you've observed it's not a firmware versioning that refers to features so much as an iterator.
