Brians topic about a battery cosy inspired me to see if battery heating would have effect in the winter.

I ordered a 25x35cm heatmat and it does slide in nicely between the pack and the frame. For now it seems to have a bit of effect, even though it's only 15W but I guess the motorcycle cover helps keep the heat in.
I started around 16:00 and the temps were 8/10°C, before I went to bed 9/10°C and the next morning it was 10/11°C.
There is something going on at least, this might be a solution if your Zero lives in an unheated garage

For me, on the road. It's a little scary on the interstate when I can't get over 60-65 mph.

Perhaps some preheating and wind deflection is enough in your case.

My bike is in an unheated shed and under a cover. I slipped the heat mat between the box and frame and waited a few days before measuring. Ambient temperature is about 5℃ and the app displays 8-10℃ so at this point I'm moderately positive that is is helping a bit.
