Calibrating speedo
« on: August 06, 2017, 04:19:49 AM »

Hey all,

I've noticed that my speedometer is around 20% out of sync as I've gone down to a 25 tooth front sprocket, and my back tire is quite bald from the standard '16 DSR knobby. Anyone got any idea if we can recalibrate the speedo (once I put a new tire on) to match up with the front sprocket ratios?

Yes, it can.  You should have a dealer do it though.  Check out the end of this other thread: http://electricmotorcycleforum.com/boards/index.php?topic=6162.0

The complexity is that there is an anti-fraud provision in the interaction of the MBB and ODO that causes every step you take to assume the worst-case mileage and resets everything in an up-only manner.  The dealer needs to reset the odometer at the end of the process.  The process should only take a couple minutes.

I have the higher top speed rear spool, and when went back to stock, the spedo was all off.  I asked my closest dealer (90 miles away) if they could check it out when I went there for the firmware upgrade.

They didn't know how to.  I'm looking forward to the wikiupdate.
