If you are still thinking of buying an SR in the DC area, I recommend you check with the nearest PA dealer. Their quote was significantly better than the MD, VA, and DE dealers (due to no shipping and dealer prep fees, just a low out of state fee). I say renting a trailer for $14.95 from UHaul and driving two-three hours to pick-up the bike is worth the several hundred dollars of savings.
On the other hand, the Annapolis dealer is the closest. If things go according to plan, I will soon own a faulty '15 SR that needs warranty work and I will test the reality of how well that particular Annapolis dealer does warranty work. When I asked him if they can handle repairs, he reassured me they do many and complex repairs and can replace motherboards, controllers, etc. I think he meant it as a way to say they can do it, but now that I think of it, it sounds like there are a lot of bikes that need these repairs, which is not comforting...
Unfortunately, they only had the DS and FXS for test ride. I found the seat of the DS really uncomfortable after maybe 10 miles - too square somehow and probably a bit too close to the handlebars for my size. The FXS fits my bottom much better.
