Mini announces a concept electric scooter

According to an article at Motorcycle.com, the automaker Mini will be showing a concept electric scooter at the Paris Auto Show. Read about it here:

Interesting. I wonder what the thought is behind getting into powered 2 wheel segment.

Play on the buzz of expanding? Maybe they are drooling over the growth of electric bikes in China?

I think it is more of a cheap (as in dollars) publicity stunt to get Mini's name in the news at the Auto Show. Reading the article leads me to believe that Mini probably has no intention of manufacturing electric scooters for consumer sales.

Here is a link to more information and some photos (or computer pictures) of the new Mini scooter. It is apparently a two-wheel drive vehicle, which would be the most interesting feature of the scooter.
