Here is the latest in San Francisco's self-driving taxi cabs getting the lay of the land - no doubt slowly.

isn't that the waymo or which ever one it is that debut about a month ago?  that one and elons self driving are about to go head to head in a real hard manner here very soon.  i think texas has a roll out of autonomous going on now as well.

politics and pettiness put aside, it'll be interesting to watch, how they perform, handle them selves once they are spending time in real situations dealing with real idiots on the road and not just sims.  this is going to be a real litmus if self driving is viable or still needs some fine tuning, and i guarantee the whiplash wangs are going to be out there intentionally trying to wreck for the ghetto lottery payout.  how does this pay out in the long run?

tell you what, if you want to go out for a night on the town with buddies bar hopping, this would be a great idea,  rent say an 8 person van for the night, it drops you from bar to bar, and at the end of the night, drags everyone back home and dumps them in their driveways safe and sound, no drunks on the road or even worse, texting morons to deal with, they are safe and sound with their ai adult supervision.
