It's not so much the wet weather that is the demon with me, they are building everywhere and these fucking dump fuck trucks are dropping dirt and silt everywhere, This silt is all over the roads, make them slippery in turns etc etc. NOW lets rain on that and get this fine sand all up in your chain... it'll grind the hell out of stuff. I have to do chain maint at least once a week to keep the junk out of it, otherwise I can eat a chain in about 10k. Even without the rain it blows around and gets up in the grease / oil and into everything.
I must also add too though, my riding style is ..spirited, and I put the bike to test, so I am sure that doesn't help longevity much either.
Interestingly enough and I did check very carefully, my sprockets were fine. I just passed 1100 miles on the race bike and that's all track miles and don't see any real issues there either.
