GaN Charger Reference Design Brings Improvements

Depending on whose numbers you use for weight and volume--and if this isn't already in use by today's design--this could bring a marginal improvement to the volumetric and gravimetric efficiencies of on board chargers. I compared it to some rough numbers from an Elcon/TC charger HK-J and I believe it is about ~23% lower volume and 8% less weight for double the power. Granted, at Zero's relatively low voltages it might not be possible to get that power level for <150Vdc systems yet. Now we just need someone to integrate it into design more for the <200Vdc systems and GaN systems to continue lowering in price. The article doesn't mention thermal considerations and efficicency which I thought were GaN tech's main attraction, but I have to imagine they are much better too.
