Good day all. I'm new to forum and have been looking around for opinions on ebikes for off road without a lot of success.

I'm currently looking to get my 9 year old son and myself an off road dirt bike. I prefer electric, so I'm looking at options. It seems for kids Kuberg, Oset, and Torrot are the "best". I'm leaning toward Torrot, mostly basted on specs and features. I like being able to control the settings on his bike remotely. Hoping for anyone with experience with any kids ebike to give their opinion and suggestions.

For myself, I'm considering an electric motion escape or escape R. I don't really care about a clutch, but I could see it being handy in certain situations. Any other non-surron/segway suggestions for full size but moderately light-weight dirt bikes?

I would look closely at Kuberg for your son, excellent U.S. support with good part stock. This seems to be lacking with so many. I have the Kuberg Ranger and it is awesome, I wanted crazy light with crazy power, this hits the mark at a sacrifice of big range. For range I have a WR250R but I've had a hard time picking it up in tight places, the Ranger is a flick of the wrist. Crazy means 110# (50kg) and 14kW (19h.p.)!! I get 1-2 hours riding hard in the mountains. I rode 18 miles and 3000' of elevation gain, but the last 4 mi. were mostly down hill. I've not seen anything with a power to weight ratio. The new Sur Ron Storm is interesting.

Options in this segment is evolving at a dizzy pace, with something out every month it seems. Again I would focus on support and parts, off road riding breaks stuff.

Thanks for the reply! At 5'8" and 200 lbs, is the ranger going to be big enough to tote my fat ass around?

For my kid, I'm almost entirely sold on the Kuberg Cross Hero. Problem with both of the above is they're out of stock everywhere. So it's a waiting game. My son's birthday is in 10 days, so I might drive up to Maryland (in Virginia) and pick up the Torrot. They're sold at Cyclemax, so should have decent support.

No comment on the motorcycle for minors besides depending on your state it may fall under the same rules for snowmobiles and ages.  May need to do rider education course, may be own property only for that age.  Pretty sure the clubs that I belong to that put on events have some exemption to the rules for their one day.

Full size to me means 18 or 19 inch rear tire and 21 inch front.  Really not much choice currently, I got the KTM freeride in 2017 and consider it a 7/8 size.  At least it has a 250 volt system not the 72 or much less than that that I think the ones you mentioned have.

I think the left hand rear brake I have is great, sure would not want to swap it for a clutch like lever.
