What did you mean by your last post here (manual input of bypass codes). What does that mean?

If you do not have your key, you can key in a PIN number to unlock your bike.  Basically press and hold the start button down for 7 seconds, you'll get the key not in range error, then it should swap over to a number input screen for 4 digits.  Sometimes you have to do this a few times for it to finally pull the screen up.

use the .. umm.  turn signal?  im not at my bike,  to cycle thru the a-z 0-9 menu to get your code, then press the button it puts that number in and then moves to the next slot, when you get your pin typed in, you press the last enter, then HOLD the button in for 3 to 4 seconds and it will unblock your bike for you just like if you put your key in.

I believe the factory default for this pin code is 0000  so if you have not, you might want to go change that to something so that nobody can walk up to your bike, key in and take off.

just remember for the 4th number you have to push it in then push and hold for the bike to unlock.  just pressing and holding on the 4th number does not always work.

Edit, your instruction manual should have a section on it for how to do this.  You might need your master key to change your pin code the first time as well.

To my knowledge, the master key is not needed for changing the pin code. But not all manuals contain the respecive chapter as the code feature was added in a firmware revision (can't remeber which). Therefore, manuals of models released before that don't feature a description. But it can be found in newer digital versions of the manuals which are accessible by your dealer or in the documents section of the Energica facebook group.

Interesting, it made me get my master key to be able to change the code.  Or perhaps I should say, you NEED to have been logged in using a key, to prove ownership??  You can't code yourself in and then change it, there must be a key involved at some point.

Just checked the Experia manual. For changing the pin, the bike must have been unlocked by the active or passive key. The master key is not needed in the process.

If you have the keyless option, it's just a matter of firmware.

I too could not get this to work on my 2023 SS9+.   Initially pressing the long right enters the menu, then the sequence just moves up and down in the first menu.   I never see a wrench icon or anything change in the menus.

If still having trouble after watching the YouTube above,  try this:


From the main screen, press mode to right to get menu and then QUICKLY (will not work if done slowly!) move mode to:

Left-Left-Left
Right-Right-Right
left-right-left

Center-press in on mode, then see the wrench, now you can slow down.  Select Service, and then select the engineering menus screens (two pages on my SS9-, move mode to right for 2nd page).


For the Experia is just a little different but seems a little easier:

To get out of the engineering menu, and the status menu since were talking about that general area, you have to hold the button to the left for about 5 seconds to go back out.  He says 3 but sometimes that's a little short to actually get it to back out.
