i don't think you'd want to put anything directly on the battery here, as that would be an extra layer of material the heat IN the battery has to work it's way thru to get out.  Evaporative cooling, when moist will collect all the dust / dirt and grime in the air / road and get nasty over time.  Riding it would dry out in a couple of minutes and you'd need to keep adding water, where are you going to store a gallon or so of water.  Not to mention the device to do the spraying.  You'd also need Distilled / DI water as mineral deposits would quickly clog up your sheet as well, that can get a bit costly if you don't have the means to DIY

when you are in the sun, throwing a sheet over the bike, or a blanket of sorts would keep the IR out from direct exposure to the sun, (baking everything under the plastic as the IR gets converted to heat very well thru the black plastic).  You don't need to cover the bike, you want some airflow to remove what heat does build up, but just a barrier of sorts so the sunlight hits that instead of your bike.

thanks all for your answers, very interesting.

yesterday I had a good confirmation of the importance of the sun, with the battery going to yellow only by driving after sitting in the direct sunlight by ~35°c with no charging that day, I would not have guessed that was even possible.

I think this is expected. The battery is going to yellow if above 45°c. Heating up 10 degrees while riding sounds fine to me. As i tried to explain: There is no reason to avoid yellow battery temp. This is fine. Try to keep the battery between 45 to 50 degrees. Keep in mind that means only charging 80 km of range. Than go for the next ride.
