Your safe is not safe
« on: February 18, 2016, 09:56:58 PM »

This may be a completely "off the wall" topic, but if you own a small modern home electronic safe it may not be all that safe.  :o  See this video: http://www.democraticunderground.com/1017327265

All you need to open the safe is a strong magnet. I have two friends that just tried out this technique and they told me that it works to open up their Sentry-brand home safes and they didn't even have to use a rare-earth magnet. Since all of the crooks already know this, I thought I would post it to give everyone a "heads up".

Fortunately, my small cheap home safe uses a standard key and lock system, so the burglars will just have to pick it up, carry it off and hit it with a hammer to open it.  ::)
