Basic tech help.
« on: August 20, 2022, 07:12:24 PM »

Hi all, new to the  electric bike world. I am converting a classic scooter to electric power. I bought one of the Vevor electric motor kits, as it was good value, and seems to do what I want. Its 72v 3kw,and has a 50a rated controller box. Im getting confused as to what battery I can use with this set up.  I'm after a 72v 35 or maybe 40 ah battery. The spec sheets are confusing to me, about the power output. Do I need about 50amps from the battery or can it be greater, and the controller use what it needs without burning out? I'm looking at this battery.

Any help appreciated from a Newbie.
